The room was small but honestly we didn't mind, as we spent all our time outside and only used the room to sleep. We didn't enjoy the shower, the water kept switching between scalding hot and ice cold. The breakfast offered many options, but they all tasted rather bland. However, the staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating.

I booked the hotel last year through Lastminute.com. We checked in and were told to just post the key the next day to check out. We checked out the next day and there was a lady on reception so I just passed her the key and was informed I still had to pay for the room as the balance was still showing as pending. This clearly came as a surprise as I’d paid for the room in full in September last year when the hotel Was booked. I showed the lady behind reception my invoice which showed the room had been paid for. She didn’t accept it and told me I had to phone last minute.com to chase the money. If it wasn’t for my partner being there and telling them we won’t be paying again, I may have felt pressurised in to paying for the room again, which is outrageous! The contract was between last minute.com and the ibis, it wasn’t down to me to sort. We were on a night away for my partners Christmas present and it was very embarrassing checking out to be told I hadn’t paid. When my partner complained the staff then admitted that the balance was pending and they’d have to get intouch with the company I’d booked it through, fancy trying to make me pay again, knowing that I’d already paid. Very poor. We had made plans that afternoon in London so we had to leave, it spoilt the day worrying about it, I contacted last minute.com and the funds were sent over to the hotel last September, it was the hotel that hadn’t taken the payment. I’ve booked many hotels this way and I’ve never encountered this experience and found it very disappointing, especially when the hotel were asking me to pay twice or sort it out! Terrible
