The room that I stayed in had a filthy air conditioner that didn’t cool, it only heated. The room smells of damp and has clear water damage and no ventilation as the extractor fan clearly doesn’t work.

We were looking for affordable accommodation for 3 adults and 2 kids. ibis London Canary Wharf has an amazing location, and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We were very satisfied.

Checking in was easy and the room looked okay at first glance. We then discovered that the bathroom door did not shut properly, nor did it have a lock. We weren't too bothered about this and didn't see any point in complaining because we were only staying one night and were going to a concert so it didn't affect us that much, but it was still disappointing to know. We had parked in the car park attached to the hotel and found out the next morning that the car had been broken into. Thankfully there was no damage but my friend had left a pool cue in the car that held great sentimental value to him and this was stolen. We went back into the hotel to ask for cctv footage and were told that the manager wasn't in so they couldn't do anything other than advise us to file a police report. There was no use in us doing this as we live 4 hours away from that location, and the actual value of the cue would not be worth making that journey again. I know the hotel could not have prevented this but it was still a let down when they told us that they couldn't do anything at all. Apart from that, it was an okay stay, and was a 15 minute walk to the tube station, where we only had to wait 1 stop to get off at the O2. I wouldn't rush to stay there again, especially if I was driving and had to use the car park, but as long as the bathroom door situation was sorted out, I probably would return if I was travelling by train or bus and wanted somewhere relatively cheap to stay.
