When we got here, the host was really welcoming and professional, our room was cleared regularly, they also provided delicious breakfast till 9:30am. Also, the location is in central Paris, 30 min walk from Eifel. Highly recommended!!

This was our second stay at the Novotel Montparnasse, which says a lot in itself. As always I love the neat and thoughtful design of the rooms, especially the USB ports on either side of the bed. This time we were given a room with a balcony but no sofa and I joked with ' Joe ' the manager ( sorry I can't remember your proper name ) that I had gained a balcony but lost a sofa ! To his credit he actually tried to find that combo, but the balcony made all the difference to our stay. I love this Montparnasse area as it's more french than touristy. Take a day to explore all the side streets. Turn left leaving the hotel and pass the banks there's a shop selling genuine labels at knock down prices. Turn left and left and there is a nice restaurant called 'Les Escrivains' where you can enjoy a good meal with no passers by and good wine. The only downside for me is the breakfast. It is very good but not only the same every day, it's exactly the same as last year ! Oh I forgot to mention the best thing ! Go up to the Top Floor and enjoy great cocktails with a good view of the Eiffel Tower, That's why we chose this Hotel in the first place and it does not disappoint. We tried a few and recommend the ' Nids de Paris '

The breakfast was excellent, although we booked breakfast each morning instead of paying at the time of booking, as it seems we would have been charged for 4 adults instead of 2, as kids eat free with paying adult. The room was good however, the bathroom was not designed with family in mind although this hotel claims to be family friendly. The toilet is separate from the rest of the bathroom but without a sink or ventilation. The sink in the bathroom is very deep, the soap sits very high and cannot be reached by children without an adult helping. The sink tap is also placed very further, making this a very uneconomical bathroom. The shower head was leaking and bathroom door could not be closed. Quite disappointing for a 4* hotel. Location was very good to metro and local restaurants.

The hotel is located in nice place. The hotel is getting old and run down. The breakfast was below par for the amount of rates we paid. There were damaged on the walls, sink not draining and tvs doesn’t have proper single. We also had to move from 227 which had noise from elevator and annoying at night.
