Tiny rooms, not worth the price

This is not a 4 star hotel, and the value for money was below expectations. The rooms are tiny and that the first time in my life there were not even a bottle of water and a glass in a hotel room, not to mention a normal mini-bar, although I was charged 80 euro deposit, not clear what for. There was a coffee machine in the lobby, but my attempt to have a cup of coffee at 7-30 am has failed, as I was told by the receiption "the machine operator is absent"...

We noted your comment regarding the size of your room. Indeed, our location is very central and due to our XIX thes century building, we have many restrictions when it comes to adapting our rooms, but we assure you that all of them are within the standards of Mercure. Moreover, our hotel offers several types of rooms with a larger surface especially in our privileges rooms and our privilege suites. The other advantages of the Privilege rooms are that they are endowed with a bedding upscale Mercure, and of various services like a Nespresso machine, a free minibar as well, cosmetics, a bathrobe and slippers. We also took note of your comment regarding the coffee requested at the bar and will try our best to prevent it from happening again as all departments have been notified about your comments. Lastly, to answer your question about the deposit, it is used to guarantee possible extras such as breakfast, room service or drinks at the bar. Upon check in ,warm welcome from the reception staff and swift no fuss approach with check in,room was spacious with a balcony and clean,2 nights and would definitely think about staying at the hotel on a return to Paris.

Stayed for business in the Paris region. You are in the Saint Lazare train station in 3 minutes, and can access fast subway lines at the same time. That's very convenient for work in the Paris area during the day and to enjoy Paris in the evening. The hotel is comfortable, quiet and clean and the staff is helpful.
