We have been using the Sofitel hotels for years and have always been pleased with the experience. This time were not disappointed but did not leave completely satisfied either. The hotel inside is pretty and the rooms are fully renovated and have been very well thought out, so they have all the needed facilities whilst optimising the space. The beds are big and luxurious and the bathroom with its rose gold/brass look of the taps and sink give a sense of elegance. The general look of the communal areas and the rooms is a modern take on Art Deco. The spaces were all clean and tidy and the staff in general have been very friendly and pleasant. The reason I am not giving a score of 10/10 is for a couple of reasons. First of all, the breakfast experience was underwhelming for a 5 start hotel. I have stayed in another 5 star hotel in Paris before and the experience was the one expected from a luxury hotel. At Le Scribe the breakfast room feels very basic, with low ceiling and quite dark. The choice of food is very limited and the waiters are not coping very well when it is busy, forgetting coffee orders, not cleaning tables quickly enough… Also, there was no information provided that guests could order additional items for breakfast, because there was no menu. On the last morning I realised I could order an omelette, but that was because I saw another guest having one and I asked them how they got one. The additional items should all be displayed in menus. Otherwise guests just limit themselves to the fairly poor ( for a 5 start hotel) selection on display. The second reason is the negative experience we had on the day we arrived. After check in, we waited for over 40 minutes for our suitcase to come to our room. We were happy to go up with it ourselves but the gentleman who was the bellboy insisted he would bring it. After 45 minutes and 3 calls to the reception ( where stuff were quite rude or would tell us they would call us back and never did), we went back downstairs ourselves and we retrieved our suitcase. We would have probably waited for a long time more because the bell boy was very busy with other suitcases and he did not even remember which one was ours. I would have expected that someone from the reception would have physically gone to the luggage storage and brought us our suitcase. It is 10 metres distance between reception and luggage storage. When a customer calls 3 times and have been waiting for their suitcase for 45 minutes, this is what you do. I appreciate that the reception might have been busy but still; it would take 5 minutes to get our suitcase, bring it upstairs and go down again. We could not unpack or settle in our room because of the lack of our things. I had medication I needed to take in the suitcase. The Bellboy was extremely busy with suitcases of guests who had checked in long after us and had forgotten all about us; but the receptionists should have acted instead. At a luxury hotel you certainly should not let guests wait for over 45 minutes ( after 3 phone calls) for their luggage. As suggestions for improvement: the bathtub would get very slippery and dangerous when wet. A plastic bath mat would have been useful. Also, have a list with useful numbers near the telephone. It is not easy to find the internal numbers for the reception or room service online. We hope to come to Paris again soon and the location of the hotel and the rooms were a big plus. We hope to visit Le Scribe again, but some improvements must be made. Whenan area has 3 hotels opposite each other, every effort must be made for a hotel to keep its customers.

Good stay, clean rooms, good service, however, the concierge service is not at the level of the 5 stars hotel, and its size, I would suggest raising the personnel on the concierge to serve the clients better. However, my son's room was in a different floor , and couldn't use the card to use the elevator to reach his floor

A superb hotel in every sense. Perfect service, beautiful hotel. My only complaint is that I find the mattress a little too soft, so my sleep could have been even better.

Outstanding customer service and support, from the little things like an umbrella for the rain, to a hastily planned tour of the city delivered by the Hotel staff (concierge) in 20 minutes, this hotel is wonderful. The rooms a classy and well-appointed. Super clean and well decorated, the guest rooms are well done. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of some of the highest-end shops and restaurants. I have stayed here more than three times recently and it is a go-to for me in Paris.

Wonderful modern upgraded rooms with high end amenities. On the smaller side but that is Paris for you. Would have been nice to have been met on arrival from a bag porter however no one was outside.

This hotel is beautiful. The location made it possible to walk to many important sites. Our room was large by hotel standards with a most comfortable bed and extra closet and drawer space. The bathroom included both tub and shower, plenty of counter space at the sink, and a private toilet area. Staff kept the room very clean and always replaced the bottled waters. Our stay included breakfast each day with a large variety of delicious foods, coffee and other beverages. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly, and we were always greeted upon arrival by the most pleasant Maitre D. Last, but so very important, the friendly Concierge in the main lobby was always at our disposal to arrange tours and answer any questions. We especially appreciated the help we received from Clotilde, who spoke both French and English. We would not hesitate to stay there again if we are ever lucky enough to be back in Paris.

good stay overall. Cleaning is below required standard, the minibar was not replaced on time, we had to ask for room cleaning and chase for it to take place, good concierge service, but in room service is not up to par.

I enjoy staying at your hotel . The staff is very helpful , and polite especially the ladies at the reception. Pauline is excellent . The restaurant needs a face lift . The food is mediocre and the menu is not up to standard . A frozen pizza is fir €20 ??

Our room was very small and tight, did not like the fact that the buffet breakfast has been stopped, most other hotels we have visited are serving breakfast buffet.

A top class hotel in central Paris. Good concierge, great in room breakfast and service with a smile. The room size was perfect for one person but would have been a bit of a squeeze for 2 with luggage. Nice toiletries.
