Dear Guest Relations Manager, I am writing to share our experience following our recent stay at Sofitel Le Faubourg. First of all, I would like to acknowledge that every member of the staff with whom we interacted was consistently polite, courteous, and well-intentioned. Unfortunately, despite the kindness shown by your team, many of the concerns we raised during our stay were never effectively resolved. As two ladies aged 66, we selected your hotel expecting the level of comfort, attention to detail, and service generally associated with a luxury property. Regrettably, our experience fell considerably short of those expectations. Prior to our arrival, we had specifically requested a room without a bathtub. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room with a bathtub. When we brought this to the attention of reception, we were initially offered another room at a higher rate than the one we had already booked. Given the already significant cost of our stay, we declined. We were then informed that another room would become available the following day after 3:00 p.m., which we accepted. The replacement room did offer a separate shower area, which resolved our original concern. However, we immediately encountered another issue: the bathroom sink was severely clogged. Water would accumulate and not drain properly. We waited in the hope that the problem would resolve itself, but it did not. After two days, we reported the issue to housekeeping, and we were told that maintenance would be contacted. Unfortunately, nothing was done. The situation became so uncomfortable that I found myself brushing my teeth and washing in the shower because the sink was unusable. We also experienced concerns regarding housekeeping and room maintenance. One of the bath towels tore while being used after a shower. The towel was visibly worn and fragile. As two mature guests, normal use should certainly not result in a towel tearing apart. In addition, the overall cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. On more than one occasion, there was an unpleasant odor in the bathroom. The carpet appeared insufficiently cleaned, and the windows were noticeably dirty, allowing dust to enter when opened. Because of concerns regarding air quality, we requested a Dyson air purifier, which was kindly provided. However, we then discovered that both the mattress topper and pillows contained goose feathers, which caused continuous coughing and sneezing. We reported this issue several times over the course of our stay before the mattress topper was eventually replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement itself presented further issues. The protective cover provided was torn, and when a staff member kindly came to replace it, we discovered that the duvet underneath was also significantly torn along its edges. Both items ultimately had to be changed. Throughout our stay, various gestures of apology were offered, including chocolates, sweets, and other thoughtful gifts. While appreciated, these gestures did not address the underlying problem: concerns were acknowledged, but solutions were often delayed or never implemented. Another example involved breakfast service. On the first morning, I noticed that there were virtually no lactose-free dairy options available apart from goat cheese and oat milk. I asked whether lactose-free yogurt could be provided and was assured that it would be arranged. During the following seven days of breakfast service, no lactose-free yogurt was ever made available. I raised the request again with two other members of staff on separate occasions and received the same positive response each time, yet nothing changed. On my final morning, I reminded the original staff member of my request. She acknowledged remembering it but offered no explanation or solution. Finally, at check-out, despite having informed the hotel in advance that we wished to split payment between two credit cards, the process could not be completed as requested. We were left waiting at reception for approximately fifteen minutes while staff attempted to resolve the issue, ultimately requiring us to proceed differently in order to leave on time. What disappointed us most was not any individual incident in isolation, but rather the repeated pattern throughout our stay: concerns were received politely, apologies were offered, and promises were made, yet meaningful action rarely followed. We sincerely appreciate the professionalism and kindness shown by your staff members. However, courtesy alone cannot compensate for the absence of effective service and maintenance standards expected from a hotel operating at this price point and presenting itself as a luxury property. We hope this feedback will be received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended and will help improve the experience of future guests.

The stay was ok. Plenty of 2/3 star hotels with better accommodations such as the bed, general cleanliness of rooms and the overall state of the rooms. Carpet and paint is showing it's age as well as the carpentry.
