We love staying at Sofitel and have been for over 40 years. The last 3 stays we have been really disappointed with concierge in communicating with us as to timing of picking up our luggage from our room to our car. We totally understand that there are many really busy times but after 3 calls and assurances that there would be someone immediately to pick up our luggage. The lack of communication and overall attitude really concerns and upsets us that the high standards we’ve always experienced over the years are no longer considered necessary.

The staff were super friendly, welcoming and helpful (although I did have to prompt the check-in staff to give us information on where everything was located), however the room wasn’t as soundproof as we anticipated. We were on level 38 and there was a gathering with music happening at (possibly) the Atrium on level 35 which didn’t stop until after 11:30pm. I really don’t like to complain but I could not sleep with the heavy base music so I unfortunately phoned guest services. The lady on the phone was lovely about it and said she would send her manager to investigate. It was some time later before the music stopped. There was also quite a bit of noise (heavy footsteps) from the rooms above and possible next door, which was also unfortunate. Our stay was a gift from my mum to me (which she couldn’t really afford) so we were left a bit guttered that we weren’t well rested in the morning - which I feel awful about for mum because I chose the hotel. Customer service was 10/10, excellent experience, however the room wasn’t what I’d expect a 5 star hotel standard to be - mostly at how un-soundproof the room was.
