Good stay but poor follow up.

The Sofitel Melbourne is a wonderfully dated but beautifully maintained property in the best part of Collins St. Get a south facing room and the views are extraordinary. However ... I accidently left a single earbud at reception. They called me when I was having breakfast and said they were holding it for me, but unfortunately I had to leave in a hurry for a work emergency and didn't have time to call via reception to pick it up. I've been trying to get them to find it again ever since. They tell me they have absolutely no record of it. A small thing in what it - usually - a good experience, but an expensive one.
