A bit strange…

TripAdvisor rating 3.0/5

Silvia O TripAdvisor review

This hotel is in a good, central location with easy access to Melbourne attractions. The rooms are nice and spacious and look like they have been recently refurbished, even though some of our furniture was a bit banged up. What’s a bit strange with this hotel are the public areas, mainly the lobby and the restaurant. The lobby is small and hasn’t much going for it. When we first walked in, we thought they are in the middle of a renovation, with much of the lobby closed off behind hoarding, but I think that’s just what it permanently looks like. Same for the restaurant where we had our breakfast. It’s on the mezzanine, unfortunately it’s a bit of a soulless venue. No windows, and it feels temporary. There are cheap curtains covering the walls and cheap looking paintings on the wall. Breakfast was ok, there is no full buffet, you can order a breakfast dish from a menu and some continental breakfast items from a small buffet. There is a Nespresso coffee machine, which unfortunately often doesn’t work, causing a coffee queue at most times, our last morning we just gave up and didn’t have any coffee for breakfast. Just give me a decent urn coffee, at least its efficient. As I understand, this hotel was “turned” into a Pullman hotel recently. Whilst the rooms are of a good standard (no hand cream/body lotion is my only criticism), the public areas feel cheap. Almost like they started to renovate them and then ran out of money.

Located right in city centre. Breakfast in Eva’s especially the hot food options were good. The wood fired pizzas in Blossoms were also worth having. Best to book a table though.

Great Location in the Melbourne CBD.

We stayed here via a Luxury Escapes package. It is a great location with a short walk to China Town and the Melbourne CBD. The Elevate Lounge is a great spot to start your day with breakfast and our package had evening drinks and canapes as part of it. The Rooftop bar is also great only downside is it was closed for Easter when we visited so we onlty got to visit it once.

Dear The Thirsty Tourists, Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We're glad you enjoyed our great location, the Elevate Lounge, and the Rooftop bar. We appreciate your understanding about the Easter closure and hope to welcome you back soon. Regards, Alex Mihardja Executive Assistant

Would NOT stay here again. Don’t waste your money

Unfortunately one of the worst experiences we’ve had. Most buildings in the CBD have double glazed windows, not the Pullman Melbourne city centre. Ridiculously noisy. The sofa bed we paid for was not ready and we wasted time debating with staff whether it was included in the price or not. They wanted extra $. In the end we only got a couch and had to ask for bed linen! The assistant managers were arrogant and had no customer service skills at all for this item. Did I mention the smirk on his face? Our price included breakfast, BUT you had to pay extra for coffee if you wanted it made by the barista, who was standing right next to the self serve coffee machine that wasn’t working! This was a total scam to get extra $ Only positive is the location close to shops (but noisy) and the room size. This self alleged 4-5 star hotel is cheap by nature and by operations! Don’t waste your money here, like we did!

Dear pantelip2025, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're very sorry to hear about your disappointing experience and the issues you encountered with noise, the sofa bed, and service. This is not the impression we aim to leave, and your comments have been shared with the team for review and follow-up. Our sincere apologies. Regards, Alex Mihardja Executive Assistant
