We loved our stay, the room was beautiful, and the Cleo rooftop was stunning for our wedding photos. Our only negative experience was our room not being cleaned during the time of our wedding photos and so we were unable to access it when we needed to despite requesting a clean that morning. We’re lucky the hotel is stunning and we used the mezzanine, but sad we didn’t get to take full advantage of the suite we booked.

To be honest, we were quite disappointed with our stay at The Hyde. It is not an inexpensive hotel, and as ALL Accor Gold / Explorer+ members we have come to expect a certain standard of service and presentation. Unfortunately, this stay fell well short of those expectations. Given that The Hyde is marketed as a 5-star hotel, it simply did not feel like a 5-star experience. We stayed in Room 705, which appeared to have an issue with the air conditioning unit. Whenever it was running, it produced a persistent, irritating noise that made it very difficult for me to fall asleep. As someone who tends to sleep hot, I was left having to choose between being uncomfortably warm or leaving the air conditioning on and struggling to sleep because of the constant noise. We were also expecting to receive the complimentary Welcome Amenity that accompanies our ALL Accor Gold / Explorer+ membership, but unfortunately this was not provided. The condition of the fridge was particularly disappointing. It appeared that it had not been cleaned properly for some time. There was an unknown sticky red liquid pooled at the bottom of the fridge with a long dark hair stuck in it, along with visible grime in other areas of the fridge. This suggested the fridge had not been cleaned between guests. It certainly did not give us confidence that the room had been cleaned to the standard we would expect. Finally, the coffee we used in our room was not replenished when housekeeping serviced the room. Overall, the experience was disappointing and underwhelming. While none of these issues in isolation would necessarily have defined our stay, together they resulted in an experience that fell well below what we expected from a hotel positioning itself as a 5-star property, particularly as loyal ALL Accor Gold / Explorer+ members.
