The overall vibe is great. I really appreciate the small details, the contemporary feel, and the minimal yet bright design. However, what felt disconnected to me was the staff presence and the Welcome entrance to the space. There was a high volume of public traffic coming in and out of the restaurants, which detracted from the experience. If guests are paying a semi-premium for the experience, there should be a greater sense of a warmer welcome/seclusion?

I've stayed at Hyde Melbourne a number of times and even after setting the AC to it's lowest temperature, it seems to turn off during the night making the room too warm and uncomfortable.

The hotel's location is great, and the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. However, the central controller for the lights, AC, and curtains is overly complex and did not function properly. Attempting to adjust the temperature would unexpectedly open the curtains, and the AC simply wouldn't start. The system is completely counterintuitive, even as a engineer, it took me a while to decipher it, which was incredibly frustrating. The AC issues ultimately forced us to change rooms in the middle of the night because our original room became far too cold. The membership Wi-fi sign in never works for some reason. The standard Wi-fi connection speed was average. Additionally, there were a few service oversights. We weren't offered a welcome drink upon arrival. While that isn't a major issue on its own, I also don't believe we received a room upgrade in accordance with my membership tier, which added to the overall disappointment. The staff was friendly. The gentleman offered us free breakfast due to being forced to change the room at the middle of the night.

From your description and our internal review, it appears there was a malfunction affecting the system, and I regret that this led to such a disruptive room change during the night. I completely understand how inconvenient and uncomfortable that must have been. I also apologise for the issues you encountered with the Wi Fi connection, as well as the service oversights you mentioned regarding the welcome drink and membership benefits. While these may seem like smaller details individually, they are important parts of the overall guest experience, and we clearly missed the mark in your stay. I would like to clarify that you were upgraded to an Everyday Deluxe Room prior to arrival. However, I am sorry this was not clearly communicated at check in, as we understand how important it is for our members to feel their benefits are recognised and acknowledged. Regarding the welcome drink, this is available to members via the Accor app. I sincerely apologise that this was not explained to you on arrival, as our team should have ensured you were aware of how to access this benefit. I’m glad our team was able to assist on the night and offer breakfast as a gesture of goodwill, though I recognise this does not undo the inconvenience caused. Please rest assured that your feedback has been shared with our engineering and front office teams so we can address these issues and prevent similar situations in the future. The room was smaller than anticipated and if I was sharing with someone, the bathroom/shower would not have been appropriate. The rooftop restaurant however was STUNNING. Front desk staff lovely.
