I stayed in a standard queen room. As an Accor member I got a pretty good rate. Secure Car parking is about 10 minutes away and is a reasonable $24 per night. The hotel is in Chinatown area. The room was satisfactory but very dark and gloomy. I requested a room with natural light so instead they gave me a very dark room facing a warehouse wall, even with all the lights on it was still dark and gloomy. The staff were friendly.

Forgot to inquire about views again and got stuck with the wall ( paint a mural or something) - Payment issues at checking in (no prior warning that if you live digital that you will end up paying $100 deposit fee to use Apple Pay despite them having your card details and being able to visually verify your card like your license ). - Room felt grubby - noise levels of plumbing and air con high - beds not comfortable after 1 night

This was the third time I have stayed at Mercure Welcome Melbourne over the past 10 years. The rooms are sufficient enough for my stays. It’s location is central to the tram and great shopping outlets. Staff are always approachable and more than willing to accommodate my needs.

I could hear someone next door walking in their room, every time they closed their room entry door it was a loud bang, followed by vibration in the wall which was also next to my bedrest. Over cooked bacon, apart from that water temperature in the shower was good, rest of the breaky service was good.
