I love this hotel and have returned quite a number of times. Great location just far enough out of the hussle of downtown, but still easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional. Derek in the Club Lounge always provides outstanding service. On that point, the Club Lounge is worth paying for if you have the opportunity - it is probably the best lounge of its type I have found in Australian hotels. As an Accor Diamond loyalty member I am always impressed by the great welcome amenities as these are often overlooked in other Accor properties, but at Sofitel on Collins Diamond status does mean something and I am made to feel special. I almost always get a good room upgrade too in recognition of my Diamond tier. Thank you.

First time staying at the Sofitel in Melbourne. Rooms are nice but not sound proofed, I had very loud speaking neighbours and I could hear every word, thankfully they quietened down at 10pm. Went to the restaurant at 6pm for an early dinner, no one in the restaurant and was told with no booking they couldn’t accommodate me. Had to sit in the bar area and order food. The barramundi was nicely cooked but the weird tomato, chickpea and capsicum ragu was a bit strange and didn’t enjoy it at all. Should have gone out for dinner. But in all rooms are nicely appointed and staff at checkin were great.
