We liked it, but…the was a workman in the room changing the toilet when we first arrived, so reception sent us to the Atrium for a free drink but then forgot to call us when the room was ready. We had to follow up (and our second meal we ordered while at the Atrium was forgotten about- had to follow that up too!). Then the Chromecast wouldn’t work, so they gave us a free movie from their list of movies (but then charged us when we checked out - we had to go back and request refund) and then the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking, luckily it was leaking into the basin! Would we go back…maybe!! Probably try another hotel first.

We recently had a weekend stay at the Sofitel Melbourne. Staff were all very professional and friendly. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had drinks and a snack at the Atrium on 35, which was lovely. The Sofitel Lounge experience however was disappointing, with two time slots on a Saturday night (which must be pre-booked), then a long line to get in at the designated time. The view and the drinks were great (although we waited ten minutes to be served), however hot food offerings were very basic. We then had breakfast there the following morning, and thankfully missed the rush. The staff were great, however the food again was a little lack lustre for a 5 star hotel. We have had exceptional lounge experiences in Melbourne and just felt the Sofitel Lounge was lacking in comparison. I probably wouldn't spend the additional money.
