My whole experience at the Sofitel was outstanding. All the staff we dealt with were so helpful and nice. Our room was on the 48th floor which gave us the most wonderful view, day and night. The amenities in the room are excellent including the large screen TV. We didn't like the pillows but the bed was very comfortable. I was unable to go to the restaurant for dinner but these are challenging times. I have dined there before and the menu is interesting and delicious. I left something in the room and rang the next day and housekeeping were so helpful and the item was returned. I will definitely stay again, great view, great restaurant, great people, great location.

We spoilt ourselves to a night at the Sofitel for our 52nd wedding anniversary and it was the best decision ever. When we checked in we were given a beautiful tin of signature Sofitel tea then Champagne, chocolates and dessert plate in our room with a lovely card from the staff, followed by an additional sweets plate at Cafe 35 where we had booked in for dinner. The room was spic and span with the best pillows and mattress ever, and the dinner was faultless. On top of all that, the staff congratulated us on our anniversary several times, were accomodating with any request or query we had and it made our special night and day very memorable. It had been quite a while since our last stay at the Sofitel and of course there were some changes due to Covid, but the staff explained at every step and we can’t wait to save up for our next stay. Thank you Sofitel for making our special occasion so much more special.

We have visited The Sofitel for family milestone events for three decades, and now stay each year as we celebrate our wedding anniversary having stayed there on our wedding night 14 years ago. Visiting the hotel brings us such joy and the service we receive by all staff is always so professional and personal. The smallest of details are attended to and the acknowledgement of our anniversay - a personalised dessert plate, H. written card and bottle of sparkling wine - makes us feel so special and that we are 'coming home'. Thank you for all that you do for your guests and we have been thinking of you and your colleagues in the hospitality industry as you have been impacted so significantly during the pandemic. We are already looking forward to seeing you again next year!

The welcoming and helpful staff make our stays here something to look forward to. A touch quieter than normal in the current world we live in. Ate in the restaurant both nights - joined by family. While the menu is a bit limited food and presentation have kept improving over recent years. The only downside is that free internet provided once again proved problematic during our stay.

Though the location is fantastic, it would take the services 30 mins to bring our car out to us from the car park. Which as a result caused us being late to our committed meetings. Also, the breakfast that we ordered and paid quite a bit of money for was missing the ingredient we craved and were Looking for the most- smoked salmon, we were looking for it everywhere but couldn’t find it. So we started our breakfast without it, and 20 mins later when we were done with breakfast, the lady from the kitchen ran up and brought us a huge serving of smoked salmon, which by then was the only item left from the breakfast. Nevertheless we still decided to eat it since it was there, but it turned out to be either off, or just tasted really bad, and made my partner quite unwell for the rest of the day. These episodes aren’t huge dramas, but as we were hoping for a luxurious 5 star stay over the New Years those small things tend to ruin the overall experience, especially when Sofitel is claiming to be one of the best if not the best in the industry, they can’t afford to make slip ups like this in their service.

The staff were very nice and the room was nice. I did not like the shower being inside the bath tub. The hand held shower was not very nice, the shower screen was also not great, very easy to wet the bathroom floor

Celebrating our wedding anniversary at the Sofitel on Collins for the night made the occasion extra special with a surprise upgrade to a King Corner room with 180 degree views of the city and a chilled bottle of champagne waiting. We also appreciated the warm and friendly service we received when dropping off our car. Excellent location in the heart of the city and close to the Kino Cinema was icing on the cake!

For more than 12 years we have been celebrating our wedding anniversary at the Sofitel and always enjoyed the hospitality and service received This time we were very disappointed: A)At check in reception we were always greeted with complimentary drink vouchers and a nice box of chocolate; instead we were offered a box of Tea and no chocolate and an apology for the drink vouchers as all the bars and restaurant were closed. B) you always surprised us with a complimentary bottle of Bubbly, this time it did not eventuate. C) we had made tentative reservations for the Sunday brunch of which we were to be advised if it would be on or not . We understand that these are strange situations and that and safety precautions are of the utmost priority; however in reference to: A) although the bars and restaurant were closed, I am sure that a complimentary credit voucher for 2 drinks from room fridge or room service, could have been offered, B) Your much appreciated Bottle of Bubbly which was always sent to the room with your good wishes to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary never eventuated. C) We were not contacted to advise us that the Sunday brunch and restaurant were not on. D) usually we received complimentary water bottles that too did not eventuate. Please bear in that had we been notified: we would or could have postponed our booking to a time where your restaurants and/or club were open. Instead we finished at the Grand Hyatt for afternoon drinks and meal. On a positive note: 1) We appreciated your usual complimentary room upgrade and; 2) We would like to compliment the reception staff as they were very courteous and professional in their approach. The same goes for room service.

Upgrade option- like!

Just a mini getaway for my husband and I, and we were able to use our complimentary stay. Upon checking in we were asked if we would like to upgrade to a suit for $80- yes, we would! The suites are fab :-) We were disappointed that the restaurant wasnt open for dinner or breakfast though. We dined in as we had already been out for lunch and the food was delish (chips cold though) One negative feedback I have is that it was obvious that the suite we were upgraded to handn't been used for some time (covid obviously), so the pillows were really musty/ dusty smelling. I sprayed deodorant on the and let them air for a couple of hours, seemed to fix the issue. So, my advice is- if the rooms haven't been used for a little while, just change the pillow cases. Nobody would ever know! Staff at reception were excellent as always, and the food delivery guys were polite :-) We did miss not being able to have breakfast out of the room though, so we checked out early. No cafes surrounding the Sofitel were open either due to xmas period, so we just waited until we got home a couple of hours later.

Very happy with my stay. Loved the luxurious Balmain bathroom amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable and of course the staff as usual were efficient and friendly. It was great, love the experience and just with few minor issue could be improved. After we had our afternoon meal in our room and I request to be collected and no one did, I'm not sure rather is due to covid or the staff forgot about it. The room I booked for two and the dental kit only supplied with 1 and I have to request it, it is easy done but if they supplied 2 at the start would be perfect. Other than that the front desk staff and the lady who clean the elevator was great, very helpful and we are very happy to stay again with Sofitel on Collins.
