Ariadne W. Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

Received a phone call just before check in to say that we had missed our stay and the system had us staying the previous night. This was thankfully clarified before arriving at the hotel but did cause additional stress. As a Gold ALL Accor Member, got given the tokens for free drink at the Atruium Bar, went down at approximately 8.30pm, took 15mins to be seated, happy to wait when busy though many tables upon entry were empty. Was then ignored for over 15mins with no wait staff attending or even approaching our table. Wait staff then told the table adjacent to us and seated after us that there were issues with the computer system, again, no staff approached our table to inform us. Staff then told people waiting to enter the restaurant. We got up and left the table after being seated for around 25-30mins with no service or even attendance by any staff. This was highly disappointing. Other than that, the lady that checked us in, was lovely and made the process smooth and seamless and same for check out. It is a lovely hotel and the refurbishment of the rooms is noted and makes it a really nice place to stay.

The hotel was lovely, the room was elegant, the bathroom smaller than I expected, no bath and only one basin. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The alarm clock that, unexpectedly, went off at midnight was really unfortunate as the reason for our stay was to have a peaceful couple of days. The breakfast was disappointing. One thing that was scary was the boiling water that came out of the hot tap in the shower, it took a lot of turning the cold tap to get it to a tolerable level. My upper arm was near on scalded. We enjoyed our time at the hotel but a few things made me disappointed.

great location and excellent service

Loved this hotel so much. Would definitely come back and recommend. My only issue is that it takes 10 minutes for an elevator to come once you push the button. There are 6 elevators and even when none of them are occupied it takes 5-10 sometimes for an elevator to actually open. And the bar closes incredibly early! But it’s very beautiful and the service is otherwise great!

Dear Daniel, We very much appreciate your comments regarding your stay at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. It is always a pleasure to receive positive feedback. I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. I have shared your comments with our Engineering department with regards to the wait time for elevators. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. Sincerely, Emma Shen on behalf of Dagmara Bieda Executive Secretary to General Manager Sofitel Melbourne On Collins

Lounge standards have dropped

Unfortunately standards of food and service have plummeted in what was a fantastic experience. Hot food served in lounge is deep fried and unhealthy. There used to be fresh prawns and oysters. Waitresses seem disinterested and in the telephone for long periods .
