I'm a regular customer at the Melbourne Sofitel and this was one of the poorer experiences I have had at the hotel, which is normally a high standard. Firstly, there was no hot water on both mornings of my stay. The hot water was working in the evenings, so it wasn't a room specific issue - note that I have experienced this issue a couple of times over the past few years. Secondly, several lifts seemed to be non-operational which led to extremely slow movement between floors and instances where lifts were full and could take people who had already been waiting an extended period. Thirdly, the club sandwich I had in the bar on level 35 was sub-standard - extremely dry with the bread tasting stale.

I am very sorry that your experience did not meet the standard you rightly expect from Sofitel, and please accept my sincere apologies for the frustrations this caused. Our Engineering team is looking into this as a priority, and we hope to have the matter resolved as soon as possible. We also experienced some issues with the lifts during your stay. Our building owners have been made aware, and we are continuing to follow up with them to ensure the necessary attention is given to this. As a small gesture of our apologies, I have taken the liberty of refunding your card for the dry club sandwich.
