4 night stay for my birthday. Used upgrade vouchers for the junior suite, superb corner room with great views. Use of Club Sofitel lounge was a fantastic experience and greatly appreciated, great staff and food. Housekeeping was excellent. Hotel is in good position close to city centre, tram stop out the front. Highly recommend this hotel, we will return.

I have complain about Construction noise while check out, and Duty Manager(Jenny Graham) told me to send email about apology and giving Allcor point or do something but I din't get email since Thursday, also I didn't get the invoice email or paper. It was around 5~6AM drilling noise such as breaking concrete. Also because of No invoice, I still can't file my expense!

We had a 2 night getaway at Sofitel Melbourne for our 15 year Wedding Anniversary, and it was our best stay so far at the hotel. We received an awesome upgrade from a Corner room to a Junior Suite on the 47th floor. The room was lovely, and the view was spectacular. On our first night, we went to the club lounge, before heading to No 35 for Dinner. The staff in the lounge bought us a special plate with Happy anniversay witten on it, that was such a special touch. Later in No 35 we had an amazing Wedding Anniversay Dinner, served by Emmanual our Italian waiter. He was wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. The food at No 35 was also amazing, we had prawns and scallops for entree, and steak and fish for mains. Everything was perfect, and to top it off, our waiter brought us a little desert to share of Maccaroons, with Happy Anniversay again written on the plate, such a lovely touch again. The next morning we chose to have breakfast in No 35 and again we were thrilled with the buffet. The waitress also brought us a plate with happy anniversay on it. We felt very special throughout our whole experience at The Sofitel Melbourne. As a Platinum Accor Explorer member, we also received our discounts on food and beverage at No 35, which was fantastic. I have stayed at Sofitel Melbourne a few times over the kast couple of years, and this stay was by far the best. We had the most amazing time and all of the staff were absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to head back in there again sometime in the future for another stay.

Everything was great except the laundry experience. A miscommunication on their behalf cost us $260 in laundry costs which was simply ridiculous and they wouldn’t give us a break during checkout

My first impression at reception was very good, and the check-in experience was pleasant. However, when I arrived at my room, I found that only one of my two pieces of luggage had been delivered, so I had to wait for the second bag to arrive. I also found it unusual that the room provided only one pair of slippers and one box of toothpaste. I booked for 2 persons. These small details were disappointing for a five-star hotel. Apart from these issues, I would have rated my overall experience around 8/10. The breakfast, however, was the biggest area for improvement. I did not feel that the breakfast selection, particularly the Asian food, met the standard I would expect from a five-star hotel. Many of the Asian items appeared to be commercially prepared or frozen, including the dumplings and bao. The mushroom porridge was better, although the porridge seemed to use an unsuitable type of rice for the dish. On the following day, there was tom yum soup, teriyaki chicken and steamed rice which were not common breakfast in Asia. While tom yum soup tasted as though it was made mainly with instant paste. It could be greatly improved by adding fresh lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves to give it a more authentic and fresh flavour. The dumplings again appeared to be frozen products. I was also disappointed with the pastry selection. The quality did not seem to be at the level I would expect from a five-star hotel. Some of the pastries did not taste particularly fresh and had a dense texture. One of the highlights of the breakfast was the freshly prepared hot omelette, which was excellent. However, I also noticed that the fruit juices were served from bottles (taste like) rather than being freshly prepared. Overall, I believe the hotel has a great opportunity to improve its breakfast offering. For a five-star property, I would suggest including a better balance of freshly prepared, in-house dishes alongside some prepared items. In particular, the Asian breakfast selection would benefit from using more fresh ingredients and authentic cooking techniques. I hope the hotel will take this feedback constructively and continue to improve. With some attention to these details, I believe the breakfast experience could match the high standard expected of a five-star hotel.
