I was using a knee scooter and required an accessible room which was provided. The room and bathroom layout was particularly useful for my needs. It was clean, big enough to get around and comfortable. It was a little far from the lift but otherwise a lovely stay.

I had a great stay at Novotel Wollongong Northbeach. I checked in a little bit early on the arrival day, but the room was understandably not ready. When it became available, I got upgraded to the next tier room at no extra cost to my surprise. I had a quiet room with separate wardrobe, great amenities and bathroom. I really enjoyed my stay at Wollongong Northbeach.

In my experience over many years and continents Novotel considers themselves a full service brand and yet consistently fails to deliver consistently on the basics and acts in cheaply scammy, scummy fashions.
Came to this location for a workplace conference. Hotel is tired, numerous maintenance issues visible (visible exterior rust/debris/pealing pant, interior trim warping). Advertised online as having a sauna and a hot tub but none were to be found. On my last day there was a mother with two children searching for them.
HVAC temperature management in conference spaces was either freezing or roasting. It's the 21st century. BAMS is established technology. We weren't in a weather transient. Do better.
Heavy perfume in public areas gave me asthma problems. Industrial drying fan in the upstairs hallway has me wondering about the scent covering mould problems.
Double billing issues with regard to parking even after I flagged it as a concern with the front desk at checkout. Unimpressed with Internet asking for $25/day to be billed to room only to have front desk say they'd override that. No microwave and flimsy excuse as to why not saying it was a fire hazard. My low budget Newcastle accommodation had one but y'all can't manage?
Thankfully Novotel has stopped doing the tripwire based automatic billing mini-bar service which rendered both the fridge and the countertop space unusable.
This could be a nice hotel. It's got a great location and some lovely architectural details. Love the big window at the end of the hallway opening onto the ocean view. Focus on the details.

Location is great and we've been there before. It just wasn't a convenient stay with a family. Not a good hotel for families at all. There are way too many rigid rules and a few very grumpy staff ( majority are lovely).Older Kids cant walk through the majority of the hotel without being accompanied, cant be alone in the kids play area (which is very simple) even with 14 year old siblings, etc. The pool gate is locked apparently to stop all the people trying to sneak in to the pool (even though it was dead quiet). This rule just completely inconveniences the patrons of the hotel and makes it unpractical to be in the pool area as you have to walk all the way around the hotel with a swipe card just to get to the bar/order food (which you also cant consume around the pool. Its all just made to feel really difficult and annoying. Definitely not a family hotel feel. We travelled with a group of over 20, total of 4 families. Every family was of the same view and disappointed.

My wife and I were staying at the hotel while I was at meetings. After a moth infestation in the room, reporting it to the front desk and returning 3
Hours later to no change, then another 2 phone calls . When help finally arrived my wife had to help them vacuums and tidy the room.

The Bogong moth migration across NSW has been unusually widespread this year and largely beyond our control. These moths are integral to the Australian ecosystem, feeding native wildlife and supporting pollination. Despite our best efforts, the sheer volume made them extremely difficult to keep out.
As a gesture of goodwill, we would be delighted to offer a complimentary room upgrade on your next stay, subject to availability when booking directly with the hotel.
