Its obvious that Nototel did not want our booking. We were originally booked AND PRE-PAID for 1 x night stay, check-in 20th Sept, check-out 21st Sept. When I paid, I was told that if we could not come due to COVID, we would be able to move the date and we'd have 12 months (or could have been 18 months, not sure) to reschedule. When we could not come due to COVID restrictions I called to reschedule to 20th Nov. The person I spoke to advised that would be fine. Weeks later I was called by your reservations staff to ask me to pay an additional $600 (or more) for that booking at which point I refused. When the person I spoke to heard my reaction, I was then offered the same for approx $300 extra (instead of $600 ....pricing "on the fly" ?). I naturally rejected that as well and advised that I would prefer the Novotel refund what I pre-paid and we'd cancel the booking. There was no hesitation from the person I spoke to - I was told that could be arranged and we proceeded with the cancellation. This is not what I was told when I pre-paid. Bottom line, the reservation that you have sent this feedback form for did not happen. I wish you all the best.

Terrible. Reception staff never present or to answer phone from room. constantly calling again and again to finally get an answer. Due to no room service i ordered delivery food, and the receptionist/manager said she wouldn't bring food to my room or meet delivery person which i found dissatisfactory considering there was no room service. Her demeanour rude also. furthermore she kept locking the side door to gain access to the staff elevator (considering lifts werent working), which meant i didnt have access to the elevator and my room without having to ask reception staff for access. a few times i was locked out and waiting with noone at reception desk to allow me access. very poor customer service considering the renovations and state of the hotel whilst i was staying and paying full price, assisting me would've been the least they could do!

I wish I could give two ratings. The Staff were so nice, so professional and so accommodating. The house keep team are super starts. So nice, so caring and good at their job. Our room was beautiful. When we booked there was nothing about the hotel having renovations done. We booked in for my daughter to recover from surgery, so we could stay close to the hospital - we live regional. With the entire lobby floor being lifted and the lifts being worked on it wasn’t fun, she didn’t get a lot of rest between pain and noise. I understand it needs to be done. Just bad timing. Also due to Covid no facility’s we’re open. Again, I get it. However we paid full price and it was a bit of a mess.

On check in I had to remind the staff member that I was a gold member. He had no idea what benefits came with that level of status. I prompted him about a possible room upgrade. He then looked it up and gave me a room upgrade on one of my booked rooms. This was appreciated. I think the staff should definitely know all about the Accor benefit program when working at check in. Also when waiting for a lift on the ninth floor with another group of hotel guests to go down to the ground floor the hotel cleaners actually pressed the up button on the lift and apologised while getting into the lift before the hotel guests. It was nice to apologise but they should not have pressed the button nor got into the lift in the first place. Another small complaint, I received complimentary drink vouchers after checking in. The following morning I phoned reception and asked if I could get a couple of coffees sent to our room. I was told that the drink vouchers could not be used for room service. I find this a ridiculous policy. Any quality hotel would honour redeeming a drink voucher they supplied the same way a purchased drink could be used. All these things are simply fixed and would go a long way in improving your guests hotel experience. Thanks

We have stayed at the Novotel Northbeach several times and upon hearing that the renovations were completed thought we would enjoy a couple of days break. Our room was great, as always, clean and modern. I wish other guests wouldn’t feed the birds as every time I went out to the balcony I was joined by 6 or more cockatoos who were obviously used to being fed there. They left a mess over the railing, outdoor furniture and ground. By the third day the balcony area became too dirty to sit and enjoy the sun. It hadn’t been cleaned during our stay. I’ve come not to expect too much from hotel restaurants but thought I give the renamed restaurant a chance. It was a disappointment. The meals were bland and overly expensive, $36 for fish and chips with dry salad! The other issue was with the entry cards. They expired after the first day which meant going back down to reception. It was “suggested” to me that I had placed them too close to my mobile but that was not the case. Overall, it was a pleasant couple of days and I will return but go to the nearby restaurants outside of hotel.

the hotel location is good, just next to north beach. hotel staff offered great service, they're very accommodating. some works or renovations were going on at level 3, but minimal noise and still very clean...

The hotel is much improved after the recent reservations. As a gold ALL member I was upgraded to an ocean view room on the top floor. The room was a good size with a king bed and lounge. The reception staff were all very pleasant. The location of the hotel is very good particularly as Wollongong has the city loop bus service that stops at the front of the hotel. The only criticism being the carpet in the hall is quite stained and the elevators had an issue but they are about to be upgraded which should decidedly improve their performance.

Very peasant stay in a great location, handy to parks, beach, walks and cafes. Parking easy underneath but watch height limitations in some sections, cost of $25/night. Clean and friendly. Great views to the beach/ocean.

This hotel is a gem and is undergoing major renovations. As a Diamond member, I was really impressed with the way they acknowledged my status (unlike another recent stay in a Novotel Hotel in Adelaide). My upgrade was amazing overlooking the beach, the welcome gifts were beyond what most hotels provide and very impressive. I was very pleasantly surprised and the recently refurbished restaurant and the breakfast food and beverage options were outstanding For those who maybe aren't All reward program members, this hotel should still be a must on your list for a future holiday. Its well positioned, great parking, updated rooms and amenities and fairly priced. Many thanks to the hotel staff who were all very friendly and helpful. A special thanks to the restaurant staff for a truly great breakfast experience
