We waited for over an hour for our main course to be served and when my dinner was served it was cold. I addressed the situation with the waiter, and he informed me to rectify, a new meal would have to be cooked. I decided against that because of the time factor. About three hours later I developed bad stomach cramping and nausea and wanting to vomit. I had food poisoning once before and knew the symptoms and fortunately had anti-nausea medication which I took. An hour later I developed diarrhoea and this went on for most of the night, I did report this to management, and they were very kind and helpful to me. They assured me they would speak to the chef and look into the matter to prevent anyone else getting sick. I was hoping someone would have informed me if the cause had been found and only hope it was and the matter rectified. Our celebration was not as expected.

I appreciate you raising the delay in service and the condition of your meal with our team on the night. Following your feedback, the following day, we undertook a detailed internal review in line with our food safety procedures. This included assessing service timelines, reviewing food handling records, and speaking directly with the team involved. At this stage, we have not identified any broader concerns or similar reports from other guests who also had the same meal on that night, however we are continuing to reinforce our standards across both kitchen and service delivery to ensure consistency moving forward. As shared when we spoke on the phone the following day, and as a gesture of goodwill, we removed the meal from your bill, and offered to reimburse the cost of your medication. While we understand that these actions were intended to support you in the moment, I fully recognise they do not recover the overall experience you had hoped for. We missed an opportunity to provide an enjoyable experience, and for that I sincerely apologise. I would welcome the opportunity to restore your confidence in us and will be more than happy to offer you a complimentary dinner should you be open to returning. Wonderful room and exceptional facilities. The restaurant had good ambiance, and the food was the best we have had since we lived in France. It was both original completely satisfying. Could not ask any more of the excellent staff.
