We stayed for a wedding in Bowral for a few days, the gardens are lovely, older hotel with no lifts and creaky floors. Some parts need some refurbishment but overall tidy and comfortable. Don't care for a shower in a bath that I have to climb in and slip at my age. Had a small issue with the menus we can't eat a two or three course meal and wanted something smaller but was not a lot to choose from and didn't wish to eat in our room I was after something small for a late lunch initially which was difficult to find Dinner I ordered a steak from the room menu in the lounge with chips and salad chef gave me the a la carte version which I didn't really want and my partners soup wasn't put on the order Can't fault the staff went out of their way to rectify the situation and were very apologetic. had a nice time

Was told restaurant and bar would be open on long weekend and when we checked in they said hey couldn’t get staff so it didn’t open. It was my birthday and my friend had made a cake. I had to collect and organise the plates and cutlery and only option was to get cups of tea from our room.

I acknowledge your comments regarding the condition of the property and, importantly, the service you received. While Craigieburn is a historic country property, that should not diminish the level of hospitality and attentiveness you experience from our team. I understand your frustration regarding the absence of a telephone in your room. This is part of the current room configuration and certainly not intended to make it difficult to contact Reception; however, I appreciate how inconvenient this would have been when you needed assistance. We would to extend to you as a gesture complete goodwill 50% refund of your accommodation rate, together with 3,000 courtesy ALL Reward points. I hope this goes some way towards acknowledging how far your stay fell short of expectations. Thank you again for bringing this to my attention, Jeremy. Terrible, worn out, grimy, unmaintained room with paper thin walls providing a porno soundtrack. Gaslighting in the form of insisting that a balcony is the same as a verandah - something I paid extra for and did not receive. This is very clearly, in my opinion, deceptive and misleading conduct in terms of the Australian Consumer Law it's just no one can be bothered to argue it because they're so happy to be leaving. A "fine dining" restaurant with awful service. My complete memory of my one and only trip to Bowral is the awkward stoicism of sitting in a room listening to moaning, screaming and slapping on the other side of the clearly non-soundproofed wall. And when that was eventually over for the evening it was inane British comedy with canned laughter or war movies with relentless machine gun fire for the rest of the night making sleep impossible. In my view this alone makes the property unfit for purpose as a hotel. But additionally, our bathroom tap dripped relentlessly. One of the vanity doors looked to be falling off. Why is there a bath in the bathroom? No one would willingly soak in the bath in that grubby room. The grout between the floor tiles in the bathroom clearly hasn't seen a proper clean in many years, possibly decades. We kept our thongs on in the bathroom and shower as if we were still staying in the caravan parks of our youth. The promotional material significantly overstates the amenity of the property which raises expectations well in excess of anything that this tired old property can deliver. I explained our dissatisfaction upon check out to the front of house staff member who asked if we enjoyed our stay and she neither met my eyes nor responded. Even she's embarrassed by the product and the deceitful promotion of it.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Peppers. Our room on the 2nd floor was very comfortable. Dinner in Hickory’s restaurant was excellent. It is a 2 course or 3 course option. We would have had dinner on our 2nd night but we prefer just to have one course now. Breakfast was very good. Lounge areas downstairs are excellent & very comfortable. All staff we met were very friendly.
