Dont even think about it

Upon arrival lobby looked and smelt very nice . Went to pay and was charged car parking on. their premises unaware that it was extra. Checked in and we had a 2 bedroom unit at $316.00 per night . So disappointed was travelling and decided to splurge. The room was very outdated and filthy furniture from the 1980s the white kitchen appliances has turned yellow the tap sang a song in the pipes when in use. the kitchen crockery was filthy as was the couch and the carpets. The window sills were all eroded and rotting. At this price i expected just a little luxury as i dont splurge very often. Do yourselves a favour and stay elsewhere you wont be sorry. Oh and the area is very dodgy as well unless you want a vape or a Thai masssage . Lets not talk about dust as another said you could grow potatoes in the dust.

You couldn’t pay me to stay here again! It’s just dire!

I don’t usually do regrets - but I wish I had read the Trip Advisor reviews before I booked this. I have stayed at Accor hotels in the past and they have always been excellent. This was the first time I had stayed under the Mantra brand and it will be the last. We were travelling through NSW to get to Sydney Airport to fly to Tasmania and I thought this was a good place to rest for the night - I was wrong! The hotel is beyond tired, in fact it should be razed to the ground and rebuilt. The reception has limited opening hours and whilst the area is clean the rest of the hotel isn’t. Your first experience is the single very slow lift that takes forever to use. When you enter the room you are greeted with old furniture that is beyond its best and grubby. The dining table is repaired and held together with angle brackets. The kitchen counter had a significant burn mark on it. The appliances were so old they were yellow when once they were white. The curtains were hanging off the rail in the main bedroom. The sliding glass doors to the balcony were filthy. The insect screens had significant holes in them. There is only air conditioning in the lounge area and not in the bedrooms this unit dripped condensation on to the carpet right over a power socket. This had been dripping for so long that the wall it was mounted on had water stains all the way down it. The tv had children’s finger prints all over the screen and the dust on the unit was so thick you could grow potatoes in it. The on-suite bathroom as so small you had to close the door to get to the toilet and when you used the shower it sprayed more water out of the back of the shower head than hit your body. This drenched the floors outside the shower. Kitchen floors were not clean with both sticky and greasy areas. Mouldy tea towels and cracked cups. The lighting in the living area was extremely dim with only one operating bulb in the ceiling lights that should have two and no table lights so main lights or nothing. In summary this hotel was dirty and needs extensive investment. Considering the cost it was very poor value for money. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again! The sad thing is the hotel doesn’t care, if you read other reviews you will find very similar comments in other reviews. This hotel simply doesn’t learn!

Loved it!

I loved this hotel! The rooms were so spacious, and I loved the apartment style of the hotel. The shower water pressure was some of the best I'd ever felt, and the balcony was a beautiful touch which I loved sitting on late at night. Rooms were very modern and clean, and hotel was quiet all night with curtains keeping the rooms dark. The only thing I would say is that there is a small step to each bathroom which everyone in our family stubbed our toe on, so be careful of that.

Kitchen Rip Off

Paid $300/night for a room with kitchen so we didn’t have to eat out/take out all the time BUT no frypan, no bowls for use in the microwave, no chopping board, no tea towel or dishcloth, no side plates, no can opener - essentially useless as a kitchen. Also no fan or aircon in the bedroom-could leave the aircon in the main room on full overnight so that some crept into the bedroom but not great for the environment. Says rooms noiseproof but could hear everything from the corridor. Promised mountain view was actually buildings, houses and backyards with a glimpse of the hills in the distance. Staff were pleasant.

Unexpected Rip Off

Quick to charge top rates but not great. Only 1 lift for 7 floors and the slowest lift ever. Our shower was just a plastic shower curtain on a very rusty pipe. The water flowed into the toilet and laundry area, thank goodness they let us a squeegee broom to mop it up. We also ran out of Toilet paper for a whole day and then had to request for more. Room was also not serviced each day and we had to ask for fresh towels after having to dry up the bathroom floor. Also had to sleep on pillows with no pillow case for 2 of the 3 nights. We also had to pay for parking which was part of their building. Some of the employees were not really concerned at my comments which confirmed my view of this place. I would not be concerned if I was paying $100 per night, but at over $200 this was no more than a rip off and it looks like it is owned by the Accor group. A refund would be appreciated.
