Nicely restored and well maintained old manor with quaint artworks and furnishings and an interesting history. We stayed upstairs in the main manor, and visited the bar, pool, lounge and restaurant. All a good experience.

Overall it was underwhelming. There are a number of things that are not up to scratch with the accommodation. 1) when we arrived there was muddy water coming through the bathroom taps. It was fixed but took a number of hours and felt touch and go as to whether it would be fixed. We were not offered water to use for tea/coffee and generally left to fend for ourselves until it was fixed. 2) the water temperature swung between hot and cold with no rhyme or reason. 3) there is clearly a major water pipe issue at the top of the property that is seeping across most of the driveways and garden beds. 4) There was no staff after 9pm when we arrived back from dinner for a night cap. 5) the rooms are pretty basic. No nice toiletries, no bath robes, shabby carpet. The verandahs need a sweep and cobwebs cleared away. It must be difficult to find staff and attend to a property of that size but something needs to change because it is a very sad, drab relic of a bygone era.
