We have stayed here before so knew it was very conveniently located for the motorway and had good parking. We had a restful stay, the Covid hygiene measures were good and I was pleased to get a room with a bath after a long journey. Dinner was enjoyable - good choice, nicely cooked - but breakfast very sparse by the time we arrived just before 9 AM. The hotel seems to be very short staffed, so we had to wait quite a while for a drink by the pool on arrival and at dinner the staff never stopped rushing around (there was a corporate dinner at one end of the dining room). The online check-in authorisation didn't work so I had to pay before I left, luckily we had time for that but it seemed a waste of time to have filled it all in online beforehand! Many thanks to Leeloo (food service) and Christine (sommelier) in the restaurant.

The hotel receptionist was very efficient, although I thought that I had already checked in online, but I still had to answer loads of questions. The room was very clean and just what we needed. However, the restaurant was another story. Because it was Sunday we were told that there was no plate of the day. We asked if my grandson could have just an omelette and chips as he’s vegetarian, but no, they couldn’t do that. He ended up with chips and pasta and the pasta was lukewarm. My daughter ordered a vegetable curry, but it was very small, she had to order a plate of chips later. And on top of all this we waited nearly 1 1/2 hours for our food to arrive. I just don’t think this is good enough.

Good location (for our travel), efficient check in and out - ok room. Noisy air-condition (had to turn it off) and poor room-service - came late and missed items (asked again but never came back).

One night in a superior room. Good space, but small bathroom. Thankfully separate toilet. We ate in the restaurant on the Monday evening. Good space, plenty of room, good application of Covid rules. The woman who served us was excellent, especially on the wine recommendations! Breakfast was a little more chaotic. But a good selection as we expect from a Mercure!

Nice hotel but service in restaurant needs to improve

Room was clean, pleasant and calm. The only thing I would say needs improvement is service at the restaurant. They first came to ask what we want without giving hardly any time to look at the menu an then basically they ignore us.... We had to wait 15 minutes since they took our plates for someone to ask whether we wanted a dessert (and only after I really asked a couple of times for someone to come). They just say they charge the cost to your room but no opportunity to check the bill- result I had to complain in the morning because the bill was not correct (and they only showed me the detail of the bill in the restaurant after I asked for the detail).... Restaurant service/management to be improved without a doubt

All good except for the bathroom and lavatory each of which are "tired" i.e. desperately in need of upgrading. Room 125 1. Basin badly/unpleasantly stained and plug didn't work 2. Bath - shower lever missing its cover. Conclusion: will probably not return to Mercure Tours Nord

The staff was very professional, room perfectly clean however the sofa bed where our children slept seriously lacked comfort. Hopefully it was very young children and for one night but anymore than that would have spent a rough night. The restaurant also proposed excellent food.

Not at Mercure usual standards

Not good. It was the second time we stayed in the hotel during the last months and the experience was worst than previous one. Room too basic, no coffee machine, no shampoo, only 1 soap in a room for 4, no slippers available. On top of this even with the “no enter” signAl at the door, a cleaning lady entered in our room while we were sleeping waking up us and the kids. Completely lack of respect.

We have stayed many times at this hotel. While not the best Mercure in France, it’s fully up to standard - the rooms are large and well equipped, and the bed is very comfortable. This time a few things were disappointing. On checking in we were very surprised to be told we were no longer Silver status - we checked our account on-line and indeed we were still Silver! This was put right at the desk, but it shouldn’t happen and gives a bad impression. We ate in the restaurant. Based on previous experience, our expectations were not high, but we were dismayed to find that there was nothing on the ‘menu du jour’ that we wanted to eat. Tête de veau anybody? So we ordered from the more expensive à la carte, which was OK but hardly memorable. Then when we came down for breakfast there were many uncleared tables but none available for us. The staff quickly set a table for us, but it’s a small detail that again leaves a bad impression for an hotel with aspirations.

We were travelling from Pamplona heading to Calais. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and spoke English. The location is ideal for the motorway but not really suitable for visiting Tours without taking the car.

The location was very convenient. The room was bright and pleasant with plenty of space. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was definitely five star! But the best part, by far, was the hotel's staff. Always available, incredibly friendly, patient and very helpful. I am definitely staying there next time I am in Tours! It is far better than all the other hotels I have stayed at in the same area [and I have been to most of them because I travel to Tours to visit relatives every year!] My only complaint is that the shower, and also the tiled bathroom floors, are quite slippery and that can be a hazard, as we experienced first-hand. Having said that, I would definitely recommend Mercure!

I stayed in Tours for a business trip, good location on the north side of the city, not to far from Vouvray, if you like the wine. . convenient hotel for a business stay staff is friendly. I didn't use the restaurant or the breakfast in the morning.
