Working week, Mon to Friday. Nice stay First night (9th May) I have been in a noisy room (close to elevator), not a nice experience. I asked to move the night but they said not possible until next day (not nice...customer is king in my mind!). Next day I have been moved at far away room but this time no king size bed just 2 single beds....In other words you got something but not all....Appreciate the effort to move anyway. Thank you.

Je suis désolée d'apprendre que votre expérience en chambre n'ait pas répondu à vos attentes et je vous prie d'accepter nos plus sincères excuses. Nous comprenons votre déception concernant le bruit de l'ascenseur mais malheureusement le 09 Mai, 71 de nos 93 chambres étaient louées et nous n'avions plus de chambre loin de l'ascenseur de disponible. C'est pour cela que nous vous avons changé de chambre dès le lendemain où nous avons commis l'erreur de vous attribuer une chambre avec deux petits lits, pour cela nous tenions à vous présenter toutes nos excuses pour le désagréments, je tenais à vous assurer que cela ne reflète pas nos habitudes de service et soyez assuré que les mesures nécessaires seront mises en œuvre afin d'améliorer notre offre de service, Nous espérons regagner votre confiance lors d’un prochain séjour. Hotel is generally nice, good rooms and location is convenient. Breakfast was not very good, hot food was not replenished often and had clearly been out for a long time. Bread running very low but not replenished. Very little assistance was on hand. Dinner was a shambles; wrong dishes being brought to our table, literally the worst pint of lager delivered (totally flat, no gas, bits in the beer), it was cold but when we tried to tell the waiter he did nothing about it. Food was expensive for what it was, steak over cooked and very small. The stay was fine, let down by the restaurant service and food/drink. Our bill for 2 rooms with breakfast and dinner was around €350… under this was very poor value.

Our second time staying here on our way to Spain. Only "complaint" this time was asked for a "sanitary pass", which we only understood when it was written down by the receptionist, covid pass. Nice bar and good food in the restaurant.

We had a pleasant stay and dined in the restaurant: The room was very clean and comfortable, however the room was a little cold, an the warm air conditioning did not seem to resolve this.

We have stayed here before so knew it was very conveniently located for the motorway and had good parking. We had a restful stay, the Covid hygiene measures were good and I was pleased to get a room with a bath after a long journey. Dinner was enjoyable - good choice, nicely cooked - but breakfast very sparse by the time we arrived just before 9 AM. The hotel seems to be very short staffed, so we had to wait quite a while for a drink by the pool on arrival and at dinner the staff never stopped rushing around (there was a corporate dinner at one end of the dining room and the same staff had to do both). The online check-in authorisation didn't work so I had to pay before I left, luckily we had time for that but it seemed a waste of time to have filled it all in online beforehand! Many thanks to Leeloo (food service) and Christine (sommelier) in the restaurant.

The hotel receptionist was very efficient, although I thought that I had already checked in online, but I still had to answer loads of questions. The room was very clean and just what we needed. However, the restaurant was another story. Because it was Sunday we were told that there was no plate of the day. We asked if my grandson could have just an omelette and chips as he’s vegetarian, but no, they couldn’t do that. He ended up with chips and pasta and the pasta was lukewarm. My daughter ordered a vegetable curry, but it was very small, she had to order a plate of chips later. And on top of all this we waited nearly 1 1/2 hours for our food to arrive. I just don’t think this is good enough.

Excellent stopover spoiled by a few details

We have stayed many times at this hotel. While not the best Mercure in France, it’s fully up to standard - the rooms are large and well equipped, and the bed is very comfortable. This time a few things were disappointing. On checking in we were very surprised to be told we were no longer Silver status - we checked our account on-line and indeed we were still Silver! This was put right at the desk, but it shouldn’t happen and gives a bad impression. We ate in the restaurant. Based on previous experience, our expectations were not high, but we were dismayed to find that there was nothing on the ‘menu du jour’ that we wanted to eat. Tête de veau anybody? So we ordered from the more expensive à la carte, which was OK but hardly memorable. Then when we came down for breakfast there were many uncleared tables but none available for us. The staff quickly set a table for us, but it’s a small detail that again leaves a bad impression for an hotel with aspirations.

We were travelling from Pamplona heading to Calais. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful and spoke English. The location is ideal for the motorway but not really suitable for visiting Tours without taking the car.

The location was very convenient. The room was bright and pleasant with plenty of space. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was definitely five star! But the best part, by far, was the hotel's staff. Always available, incredibly friendly, patient and very helpful. I am definitely staying there next time I am in Tours! It is far better than all the other hotels I have stayed at in the same area [and I have been to most of them because I travel to Tours to visit relatives every year!] My only complaint is that the shower, and also the tiled bathroom floors, are quite slippery and that can be a hazard, as we experienced first-hand. Having said that, I would definitely recommend Mercure!

From check in to checkout this hotel was flawless. The room was spotless and as requested was very quiet. With the air conditioning easy to adjust it was straightforward to create a nice ambient temperature. Both the dinner and breakfast were excellent. All of the staff we encountered were both friendly and professional. It is obvious that the hotel manager has high standards and knows how to motivate the staff to achieve excellence.
