ibis Melbourne - Hotel & Apartments Hotel 3 stars

Great location close to transport, entertainment, restaurants and the Victoria market. Room was large and comfortable and competitively priced with included buffet breakfast. Major concern was that I have been charged twice, once prepaid over net then again by the hotel.

From checking in to signing out our experience was as anticipated- we were well informed,always greeted with a pleasant smile,reception staff well informed when it came to giving directions etc

One mild negative opinion: In-house food. Note: I did not eat at the restaurant, only inspected the menu. ... The restaurant was not impressive, focusing more on Western-style comfort foods and less-healthy snacks than on salads and healthy meals. The $18 Breakfast Buffet may be worth the cost for people who eat more than I do in the morning. Overall, the restaurant's menu simply did not appeal to me, and there were many more interesting restaurants within walking- and/or tram distance. The positive opinions: Location: Perfect. Ibis Melbourne is right on the edge of the Central Business District, and within the CBD's free tram service area. Melbourne Museum, Victoria Market, Lygon St. restaurants, and the CBD are well within a walking distance of one km or less. Trams to Brunetti, Flinders Station, the Royal Botanic Gardens, and other major sights are within a few blocks east or west. Service: Outstanding. The front desk staff are kind and helpful, cleaning staff are invisible and efficient. Amenities include a mini-refrigerator and teakettle, with tea and instant coffee available. Bed, Polyfill pillows and duvets were very comfortable -- and better than down, due to allergies. In all, service and amenities were at least as good as I'd hoped. Cost: Excellent. I had a 10th-floor room, very quiet and a fine view -- not great, just some buildings and apartments, but a decent horizon -- and good access to daylight. I had expected more street noise and fewer amenities for my US~$100 per night. I would definitely stay here again.

The bedroom for 2 people is so small. The air conditioner look like it can’t be controlled temperature. The light in the room can be lighter.

We arrived 4 hours prior to check in time and were given total attention. We were able to check in early into our room which gave us the entire day to explore the city. The ladies at the check in counter were extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were properly looked after.

The apartment was clean, beds comfortable. Close to the Tram. MInor suggestions, include a tea towel in the apartment, coffee mugs and more than one bowl.

Room was clean, bed was comfy, great budget stay in the city

Beds and pillows are super comfy!!! We were very happy that there were extra pillows in the cupboard too. Reception staff very friendly, helpful and easy to deal with.

Staff were great and friendly at all times. room was comfortable bed was a little high for me And a shower bench would of been nice. Great location in relation to markets and other places to shop and eat

The only thing I would like is a flat pillow choice. No hotels seem to think of just having a choice in the room. Kind regards and will always stay with you. Pat and John C.
