My wife and I stayed two nights in August 2021. The facilities at the hotel are excellent, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful, even to us English looking for a day of rest from driving plus a pharmacy to get the Covid-19 tests required for our onward journey into Italy. On the downside, (1) the name of the hotel at the entrance is surprisingly hard to see (there are huge signs higher up but they are not so helpful for someone new to the city arriving by car), (2) the underground carpark is very hard to navigate and use, (3) electrical sockets in our room and the common areas seem to be incompatible with the European mains plugs which I generally use elsewhere in Europe: the staff at reception kindly let me recharge my telephone during a quiet time of the day by plugging it into their own laptop.

Comfortable room. Parking facilities are not great. It was easier and cheaper to use the railway station car park across the road. Breakfast seemed expensive, so we had it at a neighbouring bar.

Good location next to the station (close to the city center too), but we had a difficult experience parking our car (parking was full although displayed as amenity on the hotel website and then really cramped with a few dangerous concrete angles to pay attention to when parking). Other than that Very good experience regarding the room and the hotel staff in the lobby.

We arrived later as thought because of usual July traffic congestion and it was a little difficult to find the entrance of the hotel due to oneway streets. Very welcoming staff and the reception. The garage in the hotel is a little difficult as very narrow parking emplacements. Very serious protection measures against Covid everywhere in the hotel ( marked ways, lift, breakfast room etc.. nice support form the reception staff for discovering the old town from Chambery .. etc..

We were satisfied with the offer of this hotel and have already recommended this hotel to our friends. Just to say, in the pictures, the breakfast buffet looks more opulent than it actually is. The condition and spaciousness of the garage do not justify a price of 16 €. This does not even include damage participation or any form of liability.

The hotel is right by the station, within very easy walk of everything in the centre of Chambery and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. We'll definitely stay again.

Convenient location, friendly, helpful staff, good secure parking ( pay) but even in confinement disappointing ,expensive meal to be taken in room

We had to stay here under duress (due to curfew); few instructions inside room; no amenities except soap (we are Silver class for Accor hotels); no welcome drinks; breakfast (due to Covid) very sparse, not all asked for was delivered. Parking was exhorbitant, plus we had to pay walk-in prices.

Regarding the lack of in-room equipment, especially tea and coffee pods, this is unfortunately due to COVID-19. Indeed, after your departure all that is in the room must be thrown away, including the unused things. In order to avoid waste, we provide everything you might need on the front desk and not in your room. I'm really sorry if you did not have your welcome drinks, since you made your comments on tripadvisor i cannot check your reservation to see what happend. We had communicating rooms, one with mountain view, good breakfast, served on time. Only we forgot the charger and some grosseries in the fridge....and the hotel did not let us know about it. A bit of frustration, Also it's quite impersonal, but it might be a part of big group of hotels behaviour

It was very hot in the rooms without a possibility to turn down the heat that we could find. It was late October and so very cool outside. It seems the heat is central for the hotel. We had to open the window a lot which lets in noise from the street. Otherwise everything was great.

I arrived on sunday evening, I was supposed to stay the whole week (Due to Covid, I had to abort my stay on tuesday but I didn't know it at that moment) and was proposed the additional night for 135€ already precising we were on a sunday in Chambery. The second proposal was 120€. It was the last. I stayed in a 4* hotel nearby for 90€ including breakfast. The guy at the reception looked angry. He made no commercial effort when I arrived on tuesday evening either, and invoiced the full night price (including breakfast!) because it was already 19 PM. Fair or not for the room, I do not think it is the case for the breakfast.

On this weekend we had to welcome the « Tour de France ». In despite of a very few rooms available left and your late arrival timing, we did proposed you, as you are an ALL member, 20% off the public price. You refused it. The next evening, you came again to get a room in our hotel, i personnaly welcomed you with a smile. I was very happy to see you back since the last evening, our chat about the room pricing was not sucessful. We also had a nice chat during your dinner. The next evening at 7PM you came to the front desk to inform us that you had to quit your room for personal reasons. Our housekepping staff is leaving earlier, so your room could’nt been sold on the same evening that is the reason why you have been charged. Regarding the breakfast, you choose during your check in an included breakfast rate it is non dissociable. Excellent welcome and lovely staff (special mention for Elliot who was charming, attentive and competent). Breakfast in the room was also very nice and the health and safety measures were taken seriously. Just a pity that the room wasn't really up to standard.

We were a party of 5. Rooms were well designed, comfortable and clean. My room had a small fridge, safe, and a decent hair dryer. Location opposite the train station and a short walk to the old town. Restaurants, bars and supermarkets nearby which were open on a Sunday. Very tolerant and forgiving staff who didn't flinch when I accidentally dropped a bottle of red wine in the reception area. Still sorry. Two small booths in the reception area which were great for our group to socialise, have a beer and play card games. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is located in the centre of Chambéry, just across from the main SNCF railway station. The outside appearance, the lobby and the reception area seem absolutely compatible with the location. With a small exception, the room was a very positive surprise: freshly renovated in an absolutely modern style, it is in contrast with the rest: very good, only the water drainage in the shower was not OK. The staff that I had the opportunity to deal with at check-in, breakfast and check-out were friendly, professional and efficient. The underground parking is cramped and crowded: if I was to stay here again I would try and reserve a spot there ahead of my arrival and try not to be here with too large a vehicle

As usual I can rely on Mercure hotels to provide good comfortable rooms in good location. Good to have Carpark on site. We ate at the adjacent restaurant which was very convenient and good quality, very good after a day of sightseeing. Should have stayed longer!

Hotel is ideally located just across the road from the railway station and also very close to both the Hertz and Europcar car hire offices. Room are clean and modern. Breakfast although good is not cheap unless included in a deal of some kind.

I have been to this hotels several times but it was the fort time with such a loyalty card. Thanks to this card, I was upgraded to a deluxe room. It aw more spacious and more comfortable than usual. I loved the experience it!

Disappointed. Inconsistent standards in Accor hotels of the same brand.

We have stayed in Mercure hotels before but this was not a good experience. Toenail clippings on an uncleaned floor on arrival. Moved to a small claustrophobic internal room with strong smell of smoke in corridor outside. This is not Mercure standard we have come to expect. The USP of a chain has to be consistency. if there is no consistency why choose an Accor group hotel? Our friends had the same inconsistency with two Ibis stops - one good one poor. Very different experiences from the same brand. Also beware city centre hotels if on car trips, as we were. Expensive parking (16 euros though reimbursed after complaint about the toenails incident).
