Hotel is well located close to the Airport Tram stop which was very useful for getting around. However the room we were allocated was most unsatisfactory. I was aware when booking the "Privilege Room" that it was also an accessible room which was ok even though we didn't actually require an accessible room. We were not offered any other options in this regard when checking in. It had also stated that there were twin beds which although we would have preferred a double also wasn't an issue for us however the beds were surprisingly tiny, when measured they were only 75 cm wide which when searched on the internet revealed that beds of this size are extra small/shorty beds or even childrens beds - really not suitable for adults to comfortably sleep in. The room itself was pretty bare and the carpet was wet in large patches as though recently washed which wasn't very nice to walk around on so the provided slippers had to be used. The minibar fridge was too big for the space allocated and was therefore sitting in the middle of the floor. The makeshift wardrobe/shelf space in the room really wasn't very attractive and proved not very practical. After check-in, my booking appeared on the app as a Classic Room despite having booked the more expensive Privilege room, I checked this with Reception who said that they had recently "reclassified" their rooms and it was in fact a Privilege Room (which I can only assume meant that the robes & slippers and minibar had been added to enhance the appearance of a fairly bare and dreary room). On the plus side, the rooms were super quiet with extremely well glazed windows and excellent blackout curtains. Breakfast was ok, staff appeared to be just hanging around, we had to find out own cutlery and napkins as tables had not been cleaned and reset. It was also difficult to determine restaurant staff from residents as they were mostly casually dressed. Having stayed in Mercure hotels in various other parts of Europe, I was unfortunately disappointed with our stay in Mercure Bordeaux Centre Ville and at a cost of €686.92 for 4 nights, I would have expected a bit more comfort for a supposed 4 star hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bordeaux but would not be returning to this particular hotel.

From the moment we checked in the entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was our first time in France and they recommended places to go and see, They were incredibly helpful with any questions we had as well. The room was beautifully maintained and we had everything we could've needed. The hotel was near everything and even though we rented a car we walked everywhere! We're looking forward to coming back and mecure will definitely be our place to stay. We really really enjoyed it!

There were 2 incidents. First night: water leak and subsequently water cut-off in whole hotel at around 11:30pm. Check-out date: my wife’s scarf has been forgotten in room (100% sure was hanged on the chair besides the round table) but couldn’t be found by the room cleaning staff! Very strange! This would never happen in Japan or China! In France we would need to go for 5* hotel in order to have reliable cleaning staff.

Nice hotel - staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms are nice and clean. Great breakfast,, located a few minutes from the main center of town and just across a mall in which there is a supermarket. The only issue is that the AC could not be adjusted as we would have wished, which made the room quite warm at night. To be clear, the AC was running, but you couldn't adjust the temperature below a certain level and it was a bit too hot to our liking.

Front desk staff were reasonably friendly but the staff at breakfast ranged from indifferent to hostile. The hotel itself is not in the best area for walking back and forth at night from town particularly for people on their own. There is nothing around the hotel itself so you do need to walk a bit to get to shops and restaurants/cafes. The hotel is in the process of renovation so ambience isn’t the greatest. Rooms are small and basic with no extras but adequate but the aesthetic is not attractive. We will not return.

Hotel is located close to Airport tram route (a 40 minute trip for just €1.90) and a major supermarket and fast food outlets. Just a few stops from city centre. Meriadeck area is quite “glum,” devoid of the character of the beautiful city of Bordeaux.
