We completely understand your disappointment at being asked to use the basement while our main communal area was being used for a private event. While private events are part of our activity, we fully understand that they should not come at the expense of the experience of our hotel guests. Unfortunately, my experience at Mama Shelter Bordeaux was disappointing. From the beginning, communication was poorly handled. Important information was not sent in a timely manner, making it unnecessarily difficult to locate the hotel and navigate the parking situation. What frustrated me most, however, was the following morning. One of the appealing features of the hotel is its communal space, where guests can comfortably sit, work on their laptops, or simply relax. Instead, we were told we had to relocate to the basement because the hotel had booked the main area for a private lunch event. The basement had no windows, lacked natural light, and was an uncomfortable environment in which to work. As paying guests, we essentially lost access to one of the hotel's key amenities so the property could accommodate another paying client. I understand that hotels host private events, but there should be a better balance between generating additional revenue and maintaining the experience promised to overnight guests. It felt as though the hotel's commercial priorities took precedence over guest comfort. For a hotel at this price point, I expected better communication, organization, and consideration. The concept is appealing, but the execution and hospitality left a lot to be desired.

The check-in was nice, friendly and quick. The room was comfortable and clean. The sink was clogged. The curtains do not completely block the light in the bedroom, light comes in at the very top.

This was my 2nd time staying here. My only feedback would be the cleanliness of the bathroom. I found hair and there were stains on the back of the door. There was also a funny smell in the room. The staff are excellent and I would stay again.

Reception staff were so welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Bar staff were extremely rude and had little to no interest in being there. On our first night when having a drink at the bar they proceeded to set up the breakfast buffet around us. When this was raided with them they just shrugged their shoulders and laughed at us. On a subsequent night, on the rooftop bar the same member of staff just remained in her phone and had no interest in serving us. We thought this was probably due to the previous night but when other customers walked in it alienated she didn’t really care about those either. Maybe the reception staff could pass on some hints on how to deal with customers cirrrctky.

The hotel is located in the best area in Bordeaux. Everything that you may need are in a short walkable distance, the rooms were clean well maintained and equipped with everything possible. And the staff was the kindest ever

The hotel is very central, close to trams, cafes, tourist attractions, nice restaurants & shopping. The staff were friendly. Beds were comfortable. Food was good. Air con was a blessing! The hotel is v quiet. Roof top terrace is fabulous, unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to eat in the rooftop restaurant but the food smelt amazing.

Fantastic place. Full marks to the helpful and friendly staff. Thos place is in a brilliant old city centre location, everywhere you'd want to go is a walk away. The hotel is very chilled out ,roof bar 8s excellent. Again I cannot express how helpful and amenable the staff are. I would not stay anywhere else in Bordeaux and we plan to return often and bring family

Stay was 4 nights. It was quite expensive for the style of accommodation we received. There were dogs staying at the hotel and we heard barking. Guests even brought them in the restaurant at breakfast, which was uncomfortable as one dog barked frequently. It was a disappointing stay but staff were very friendly.
