Nice hotel - staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms are nice and clean. Great breakfast,, located a few minutes from the main center of town and just across a mall in which there is a supermarket. The only issue is that the AC could not be adjusted as we would have wished, which made the room quite warm at night. To be clear, the AC was running, but you couldn't adjust the temperature below a certain level and it was a bit too hot to our liking.

Front desk staff were reasonably friendly but the staff at breakfast ranged from indifferent to hostile. The hotel itself is not in the best area for walking back and forth at night from town particularly for people on their own. There is nothing around the hotel itself so you do need to walk a bit to get to shops and restaurants/cafes. The hotel is in the process of renovation so ambience isn’t the greatest. Rooms are small and basic with no extras but adequate but the aesthetic is not attractive. We will not return.

Hotel is located close to Airport tram route (a 40 minute trip for just €1.90) and a major supermarket and fast food outlets. Just a few stops from city centre. Meriadeck area is quite “glum,” devoid of the character of the beautiful city of Bordeaux.

Staff at check in were extremely welcoming and helped with luggage storage while I waited for my room to be ready as I had arrived early. Being able to access cold water was fantastic as the temperatures in Bordeaux were in the 30’s during my stay. While the lounge areas located on the ground floor were welcoming environments to relax in after pounding the pavement during the day. I love coming back at the end of the day to a clean and fresh room but, on this occasion I chose not to have housekeeping as I was provided with the option of donating €3 each day to families of fire fighters instead.

I stayed at Hôtel Mercure Bordeaux Centre-Ville from 14 to 17 August 2026 in a Privilege Room. Unfortunately, the experience was rather mediocre and did not meet the standards I would expect from a four-star Mercure hotel—especially as an Accor Diamond member.
The hotel’s public areas appear to need refurbishment. The breakfast room was particularly disappointing, with a heavily stained and dirty-looking carpet and visibly worn furniture. The corridors had no apparent ventilation, creating an unpleasant smell. Even the flags at the hotel entrance were broken and dirty, which gives a poor first impression.
Breakfast was quite basic and did not feel representative of Bordeaux or the region; I would have expected at least some local products.
The Privilege Room benefits were not properly delivered. The complimentary water and soft drinks were provided only after a lengthy discussion with the receptionist, who initially claimed that they were available only as a welcome package. In addition, the tea and coffee facilities were incomplete: there were no tea bags for two out of my three nights.
As a Diamond Accor member, I also received no welcome package, upgrade, or any other meaningful recognition or extra benefit. Overall, the room was acceptable, but the service inconsistencies, lack of Privilege benefits, and poor condition of common areas made this stay disappointing.

The hotel is very well situated for the tram to the airport, train station and tourist centre. I asked for a quiet room, and this was arranged. The room was perfect, very comfortable bed and luxurious pillows. Everything worked well. We asked to check out later than the usual time and this was arranged with no problem, for a small extra amount. We had a wonderful visit to Bordeaux, and I felt lucky to have booked such a superb hotel. Would definitely book there again.
