I have stayed here several times over a weekend. This time I reserved well ahead of time and requested a quiet room, with blankets instead of a couette. I arrived at 11h30 and left my suitcase, planning to return after 2 for check-in, as requested. When I returned at 2 I was asked to wait briefly while my room was being prepared. I ended up waiting 2 hours. The person in charge was apologetic and had some refreshment sent to my room. I didn't have a blanket instead of a couette.

The overall stay was enough good, but some details were a bit disappointing. For 2 times (out of 3) the card for in room breakfast was not collected during the night and we had to bring it to breakfast hall to the waiter. Not a 4 start service.

Process of billing is not good. Credit card details was provided on day 1 of check in. However, the stay amount was debited from my credit card without my consent and request. The amount should have been debited by asking me and / or with my permission.

I am putting this sentence here since I don't think you would want this information on your platforms: Staff was welcoming, helpful to bring a positive experience, but the room has huge deficits that was a great disappointment as it did not correspond with the quality I have associated with Mercure. The room had severe electrical issues -sparks coming from the main light switch at the entrance to the room; noises & flickering of lights in the room (bathroom & lights by bed), etc. The toilet (underneath the rim) looks as it had not been cleaned in months - there was black crust across most of it. I even tried to clean it myself with the toilet brush but that wasn't sufficient.
