Excellent staff and location but torn towels, uncomfortable sofa bed and stained curtains

Excellent location and frequent mini facelifts have kept ratings high. Yet the gradual removal of hotel perks is starting to show. Rooftop terrace is gone, the charm of basement breakfast also no longer. Basement sauna and swim area has been more than halved in size. Reception seems underwhelming and self check in didn’t work for me. Prices have risen dramatically whilst offerings are declining. Location only matters if you still have it. Selling off most of the basement to a gym and fitness company is hopefully not a sign of more consolidations to come in the future.

This is a nice hotel, well located just minutes from the 013 Poppodium. Breakfast was included, and there were lots of options. My room was comfortable and clean, with a great view of the fountain and nearby church. My only suggestion is to invest in better towels and provide guests with washcloths (rather than just body and hand towels).
