Lady at check in was friendly and the room was small but otherwise ok. There were however, a few irritations (some more annoying than others): • There was building work going on, which wasn’t mentioned at the time of booking (via the Accor app). • I have double checked and the Accor app says all taxes are included in the price; however, I was charged extra for city tax, which was not mentioned at check-in. I think this should be refunded. • I wanted to ask a few questions at check out but could not find anyone to help. • Parking was quite confusing. One staff member told us the system used number plate recognition and that we didn’t need the ticket after validation. This worked many times and was great, but then one time it didn’t, we pressed the button and were let out immediately. Next time we arrived we needed to take a car parking ticket again. When we validated it, we were told by the staff member that we needed the ticket but again were let in and out more than once by the number plate recognition- On departure day, we were unable to exit the car park, pressed the intercom several times but no one answered. I had to go back to reception twice to ask the receptionist (finally back) for help and she was not very friendly. This was a very annoying end to our trip as we had a long journey ahead of us and were keen to get away asap. • As part of the loyalty scheme, I am entitled to an upgrade and if none available there should be an effort to put me in at least a better room within the same category, but ours was probably in the least desirable location (right next to a room substituting for the lack of toilet on the ground floor). I asked at the last Ibis I stayed at and was told I do not need to request the upgrade/better room and I would find it embarrassing to do so, but I think if I don't ask, I won't get it. I am also entitled to a late check out but when I asked to stay for an extra hour was told that it would cost 15 Euro. Is it not obvious to staff that I am a loyalty card member. If they have to check, can they please be trained to check!! • Empty cans with a deposit were removed from the room, even though they weren’t in or near the bin, while empty bottles without a deposit were left behind. Probably a coincidence but if I don’t put something in or near the bin, it should not be removed from the room. Summary: Nothing catastrophic, but several small things added up and made the stay less enjoyable than it should have been and would put me off staying here again.

I always like it when the windows open properly, like these ones do. And I loved those black/white/red birds that were nesting right outside. But I had to walk more than I wanted to, due to the restricted weekend service on the local bus.

We had to pay extra €10 for the carpark and one would most likely reach by car (considering the hotel’s location). It was a relatively comfy room however it did not feel so clean. I saw hair in the toilet. The room was not so spacious either but that is within expactations. 100euros per night is still expensive and we could hope for more i think.
