Bad restaurant experience

We had a bad restaurant experience at this hotel. Our family of five arrived for dinner at 9 pm. We asked if the food was still available and were told that it was, so we took a seat. We ordered from the menu and were then told that our requests were not available. The only option was fish and chips, so we ordered 2. I asked if we could order a salad for the two children with coeliac disease, who require a gluten-free diet. We were told that salad was not an option and that there was nothing for them. I asked to speak with the chef about any fruit or vegetable options, but he was unwilling to speak with me. My husband went to find some fruit in the car, so they could have something. When our fish and chips arrived, the meal was over cooked and the plate came with a small side salad. I asked the waiter why I was told I couldn't order a salad, and he said it only comes with a main meal. A very frustrating experience!!!

It was a bad stay for us. The heating system in the room did not work. The beds were not at all comfortable. The service was very bad and they asked us to call from the room for any assistance but the phone did not work. The staff was rude and the cleaning of our room was not done properly. The breakfast spread was inadequate. There were very limited options. Don't waste your money. Avoid staying here.

Awful hotel - late arrival from 6 hour journey - room cold and heating not working. I was so cold we slept with our coats on the bed. The hot water was fixed at a lower temperature. Although the bed linen was fresh the pillows stank and the bedsprings were prominent. The restaurant food was terrible with service to match and unhelpful rude staff. We won’t be staying again and do not recommend it!! Should have looked at the google reviews….

We booked two rooms next to each other. One was good but in the other there were a few small problems. It was room 242. The bathroom light wouldn’t turn off, and the mattress was a bit uneven, which made it hard for two adults to sleep comfortably on the same bed.

The mattress, duvet and pillows appear very low quality and should be upgraded, in particular considering that I stayed in an Executive room (322). Restaurant for dinner was pretty good, so had dinner in the hotel both evenings. Great with free parking.
