We travelled on an overnight flight to Paris from the United States for a wedding. Our check-in time was 2:00pm. We arrived a little before 1pm. We left our bags at the front desk and were told to come back at 2pm, which we completely understood. After a quick lunch at a cute bistro around the corner, we returned to the hotel at 2pm. To our great surprise and dismay, the clerk informed us that our room was not ready as the previous customers had just checked out. It would be “at least” another 45 minutes before the room would be ready for us. This was not only extremely disappointing but also extremely annoying, because it was 100°F outside and we were exhausted from our transatlantic trip. At 2:50, the room was finally ready but no one had informed us until we went back up to the desk to ask about our room’s status. Once in the room, our disappointments unfortunately continued. The air conditioning was practically non existent, even though it was at the lowest temperature and supposedly on full speed. The room became even more unbearable when we took showers because the ventilation in the bathroom was also non existent. The room got so excessively hot that we had to open the windows to let fresh air in, and despite being in the afternoon in the middle of a heatwave, the outside temperature was cooler than our room temperature with the air conditioning on. The humidity in the room was equally excruciating, like a Finnish sauna that you’ve been trapped in against your will. The mere fact that the wood and paint of the bathroom door was split and chipping indicates that this is not an isolated event. For a brand like Mercure, this is extremely disappointing, even more so that we have stayed in other Mercure hotels and had very pleasant experiences. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this establishment and suggest avoiding it at all costs.

From the moment I arrived I was made to feel extremely welcome at this Mercure hotel. Paris in August will always be extremely hot and the staff ensured that my room was cool, I had everything I needed so that my stay would be as comfortable as possible - I would certainly stay at this hotel again when I visit Paris.

Fairly good location. Has adequate amenity. However, the room appeared tired and worn, and has musty smell. Our main disappointment is the poorly designed shower, which had water protection only by a small glass pane, and so the water was plashing onto the bathroom floor every time we showered. One can see water damage on the door and on the trims of the corner of the floor. This could have been better protected with a simple shower curtain.

The room was in very poor condition. Damaged walls and doors, etc. Felt like a motel, not a 4-star hotel.

Stayed at the Mercure Place d'Italie for a conference nearby. The location was great as there was easy access to the metro, which allowed me to get around central Paris within 10 minutes, and the neighbourhood was lovely as there were many great restaurants and cafes open at night and a wonderful market with fresh produce on Mondays. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and attentive.

Stayed for a short business trip and it was a good place to be. Easy access to major streets, tons of cafes around and the classical French city vibe. Hotel room was clean, comfy, breakfast was good. All staff were super friendly!

The hotel has a great location and it was overall a good stay - however the amenities feel a bit odd.

The hotel accommodation was well located. This is metres to the Lyon Part Dieu. The hotel is very modern and the room was very spacious. There is a restaurant on site. The staff were very helpful and we were able to check in early.

Upon entering the room a bad odor was coming out of the toilet. The temperature outside was 32 C and the AC was not working properly. I set it on 16C, full fan but the room temperature was still 26 C after 6 hours. Upon calling reception he checked and shared it is working but wasn't able to cool the room so he provided a fan.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the discomfort caused by the room conditions during your stay. What you describe is not the experience we aim to provide, especially during a period of high temperatures. While we are glad our team was able to provide a fan to help improve your comfort, we fully understand that this was not an ideal solution. Your comments have been shared with our maintenance and housekeeping teams for immediate review and corrective action. Strategically located at Place d'Italie (3 Metro lines). Good breakfast for France. Flat and sparkling water fountain in the lobby.
