Check-in was efficient and staff helpful. However we could not get the AC to work. I asked for help and the staff said the AC was not working anywhere on the hotel as it was October. Our room temp was 30°, had a very uncomfortable night and cut a three night stay to omky the one night.

The hotel, staff and room were very nice and the complimentary upgrade was much appreciated however, not being informed that the building's air conditioning was not working when I checked in was a huge mistake. I only found out about it when I returned later in the evening and contacted reception. I had an absolutely horrible night where I couldn't sleep and when I attempted to open the windows to help cool the room, as advised, the room filled with midges who proceeded to bite me all over. If I had been informed at check in, I would have made alternative arrangements. This is simply not good enough, you need to do better.

The staff were great and we were upgraded but when we entered the room we were surprised the hotel has a 4 star rating. There was peeling paint, drop ceiling in the bathroom and ripped pillows.

Location is great but the rooms are not the best and in my opinion not of the same standard as other Mecure Hotels. The beds were not made properly and cleaning not fantastic either.
