There is no indication on the All App that there is a renovation going on so you can imagine the surprise when you arrive and the reception is closed and you need to go via the Ibis hotel reception. The people at the reception were very king and helpful and took very good care of us. However the Novotel’a rooms needs urgent renovation ( not just the reception) as they are old and “ used” and for me they are very far from the normal standard the Novotel 4 stars level, and for the matter far from any 4 stars hotels . They should reduce the stars during this time of renovation .

The rooms and hotel are outdated. Carpet is dirty, stairs are not straight and the shower ceiling is full of mould. Beds are comfortable but it’s not super clean. Room for 4 had only 2 handtowels and nothing more.

Having been relocated by Ibis Styles Perpignan Centre because of supposedly unexpected renovations to find Rivesaltes in the same situation was not encouraging. It worked ok, however, all was clean though lacking in odd basics ( milk for coffee and only catered for one) and a bit tired (after renovations should be good). The staff were superb and restaurant wise, though obviously under pressure, were superb. The hotel is lucky to have such willco people on it’s staff.

I travel to and from Spain every winter and I always have my second overnight stop at Novotel Rivesaltes. Even my dog now knows the way. Friendly staff, dog allowed in the room and restaurant - even the other guests are nice. Will be back in January.

Booked the IBIS a few days before the trip. Would have thought it would have been made very clear that renovations were taking place meaning a very different and less attractive stay. We were upgraded to the Novotel, but my guess was that the IBIS rooms were generally restricted. I’m glad we didn’t pay for the upgrade, the rooms are in serious need of renovation. We will always find this location attractive for our trips , but let’s hope that the current renovation is extensive
