It is a normal Novatel standard. But... The restaurant was not able to provide a hot evening meal. Only cold fare. Cooked breakfast was available. The staff including the waiters were very friendly. Does the hotel have a staff shortage problem?

Well located, but that's it

Arriving very late to the hotel due to several accidents on the road (which we phoned through to the hotel), we were welcomed in a very friendly way at the reception. This was the last highlight of our stay. At the reception they sent us on to the restaurant, no reservation needed as long as we arrived before 21h00. In the restaurant however, they almost threw us out because we didn't have a reservation. When I mentioned that according to the lady at reception it wasn't needed, the maître almost jumped out of his skin and first wanted to go over to reception to ... I don't know what, to have it out with the receptionist or whatever ... but finally he attended to us and gave us a table. There were only 3 tables occupied, so I still do not understand the problem. The food is overpriced and just so and so. The maître had the very disgusting habit of wiping the sweat of his front with his hands and then taking plates, ... without wiping his hands. Breakfast: quality goes down every year: overcooked scrambled eggs and dried out saussages, the mini croissants and chocolate cookies were finished (at 7h00 in the morning??). Check out: we had to wait for ages because the girls at the reception didn't seem to know how the systems worked or how to solve the problems with them. The youngest one was quite angry at one customer because he didn't speak French. In an international hotel I would assume that if you work at the reception, you would at least know the basics of English. Maybe she got out of bed with the wrong foot, but if you have a modicum of professionalism, this shouldn't show. The same girl 'helped us' with our check out: our invoice was wrong and had to be corrected by her colleague. Cleanliness in the rooms was ok. We asked for our 2 rooms to be close to one another as my mother has severe diabetes. They put us in the room for people with limited mobility ??? Novotel is missing a lot of opportunities here. The hotel has the ideal location for people travelling to and from Spain. When we first came to the Novotel Rivesaltes hotel (± 18 years ago), it was always full and the restaurant was visited by local people as well as hotel guests. I won't see this happening again any time soon. It's just a waste. On our way back from Spain, we'll look for another hotel. This is our final goodbye to Novotel Rivesaltes.

Sofa bed very uncomfortable, carpet floor was wet from previous guests (shower leaks like crazy). Whole place looked "tired", in need of renovation.

Ok hotel for a stopover

When we arrived there was only one person on reception and she was quite busy We probably waited 10 mins to check in and she was a bit snappy saying she was on her own The room was a bit cramped and dated but clean & comfortable Perfectly acceptable for a night The pool area is ok The restaurant isn’t great , the staff are lovely but the food combinations weren’t that nice , I just think they’re trying too hard to be a gourmet restaurant when actually good simple food would be preferable Overall an acceptable place to stopover when driving from France to Spain and good location to the motorway
