First class hotel at affordable prices

Originally, we were booked in at the Ibis hotel but on arrival our room had no air conditioning (only a heater under the table!) also the next-door room was being reconditioned and builders were working there when we arrived, banging and drilling etc. The hotel was also dark and cold with no atmosphere because of the building work and renovation going on throughout the hotel. The hotel should not have been open in my opinion. Furthermore, when switching on the TV a 'no signal' message was displayed for each channel selected! We crossed the courtyard to the Novotel and asked if we could book a room there instead but were advised no rooms were available for the whole of our fur day stay. I asked to speak to the manager of the Novotel but was told he/she was in a meeting not available. Then an angel appeared, her name was Hanan she totally understood our situation (remember we had just arrived from England after a long journey) she was able to find a room for us. Moreover, because we were frequent customers at the Novotel, she gave us a special rate for the fours days stay, she could not have been more helpful or understanding of our situation. Consequently, our stay in Brugge turned out to be wonderful all because she went the extra mile to sort out our accommodation. The mark of a good company is not when things go right but how they treat customers when things go wrong and Hana is a true ambassador of the Novotel brand because she put customer experience first.

Staff were friendly and helpful, service was very good and all the rooms had been renovated. The toilet was very small and would have been tight for a large person and there were insufficient coathangers. This did not reduce the rating value in our view. It is centrally located in Bruges with staff in attendance 24/7. all facilities were excellent including a freshwater fountain on each floor.

Second time staying here, excellent location in central bruges on edge of town centre. Only negative is poor water pressure in the showers.

The hotel lobby was bright and clean and the staff were welcoming. The actual room was a little untidy - the previous occupant's shower gel had been left in the shower and the coffee cup was dirty. The sofa bed was also not made up, but bedding was available in the wardrobe for us to do it ourselves.
