Novotel is convenient for an overnight stay at CDG. The shuttle train is easy to navigate to get from T2 to T3 Roissypole and directions to all hotels are clear. Check in was very busy, but it was handled expeditiously by the friendly receptionist. I found all staff very friendly, polite and helpful. The room, however, was sad, tired and a big disappointment. I was allocated a supposed Executive room on the sixth floor. Nice view and definitely no noise at all. The room was dull, tired and sad. I read later that rooms were being refreshed. Not this one! The entry had heavily spackled walls, as did the toilet. There was water dripping from the toilet ceiling. When I rang reception, the girl said it was “normal” and that it was because of the air conditioning. Really!?! Air con has pipes to take condensation away. This ceiling is probably full of black mould and could even collapse on a guest’s head! I put a hand towel on the floor to soak up the dripping water and hoped I wouldn’t trip over it at night. The bathroom basin was extremely blocked, and also malodorous. Just washing hands backed up the water, which then took a couple of minutes to drain away. Lightly filling the sink to wash my face, the water took ten minutes to drain. I didn’t do that again! I reported the problem, which I hoped would be attended to after I checked out. Room size was good. The bed was very comfortable and had two memory foam pillows and two Dacron pillows, all a joy to sleep on.

The accommodation was adequate but the stay was impacted by a very disappointing experience during the evening dinner service. We were seated but it took 15 minutes before our order was taken. Our starter arrived approximately 5 minutes later, but we waited another 45 minutes before deciding to leave as our main courses never arrived. Other patrons arrived after us and were eating their meals, we still had noting. No serving staff came to check on us and we couldn't get attention until we stood up the leave. We told the waiter our main meals hadn't arrived and he checked. The waiter was clearly frustrated when he realised what had happened.
