We found that all the staff were extreemely polite, patient and very helpful without exception. The receptionist allowed us to checkin early without any prior arrangement and we were allowed to checkout 30 mins later than normal as we had a child who wasnt feeling well. The breakfast staff allowed breakfast to run over the normal closing time as well for us owing to our poorly child. Special mention to Veronika and Anouk at reception who helped us enormously to find and keep safe our passports which we left in the safe by mistake and only found out when we were in Amsterdam. Thanks again for all your help and for the lovely stay.

Generally good, but things to improve

It's a mixture of really good things and some improvable, let me explain... Receptionist, and generally all crew were gentle and professional, really good brand ambassadors But when we've gone to the bar first night to pick up a glass bottle to fill it in the fountain next to the entrance we've been requested if we wanted it still or sparkling, I've requested big and sparkling (as I use to drink a lot of water at night) and after this bartender asked us to pay for the bottles. We've explained that they were to replenish them and then lady went to check with another person and ended with me having to go to the room to use my complimentary drink for a bottle of sparkling water, and my other two colleagues having a bottle of still water for free. Sincerely, I found that situation extremely weird. Other things I've noticed and I'd like to comment is that this Novotel (not sure if all, as it's been a while since I haven't used your chain), hadn't had hand/body cream, when Mercure has it (or at least the ones I've recently stayed). And beds, sincerely they were too hard, I don't remember nor Geneva nor Bucharest (the ones I've use to use about once a month before pandemic) being that hard, so night experience was not the best. As said, generally speaking all good, but with things to improve.
