We have stayed at the Mercure a number of times. Its position is unrivalled and there has been a stylish upgrade to the Reception and breakfast room. Our room was looking tired and dated. Small points (not mentioned at the hotel): one of the bedside lights was insecure; it was difficult to turn off the light over the wardrobe; the bathroom door could not be fully opened due to the position of the bed; we had to request replacement tea bags. Decorators were on the stairs which became something of an obstacle course. They were, however, friendly and helpful. We will look forward to experiencing the refurbishment in due course.

Great location but it did take a while for someone to welcome us when we arrived. Room was comfortable and ideal for our extended weekend stay.

Perfectly located for strolls on the promenade and exploration of old town. Loved having the market so close. Two nearby bakeries were tempting. Excellent staff.

Fast email reply, check in receptionist was good, but hotel room was just average, and there was no water drainage inside the bathroom so water just stay on the floor
