Two things come to mind when thinking of problems - 1) How does it take so long to check someone in? There were ~6 people waiting to check-in when I got there and it was about 20 mins before I got seen to. The staff were all coming and going - they'd click on the computer then disappear in the back room for 1-2 mins, come back and click a couple more then disappear.... 2) The speakers in the roof throughout reception and the restaurant were all just playing static with a radio station occasionally fading in and out. This went on for hours and hours. Why didn't any staff show initiative and turn it off? You couldn't not be aware of it in the restaurant.

On arrive entering our hotel room. We could see hair dried on the wall of the shower. Went to reception to complain, then wising shower found it totally blocked and the smell coming from the plug holes vile. Had to go to reception twice more to get blocked shower sorted

The room was set up perfectly with 2 additional beds for the kids with still plenty of room for all 4 of us. It's was clean, spacious and had great amenities.The kids games/toy area near the reception was brilliant and still very visible from the seating area so we could keep an eye on them (great idea!!) and the staff were all fabulous, check in was nice and easy and the staff behind the desk were super friendly, the bar staff were fabulous, always friendly and interacted with the kids amazingly which was really nice to see, during our stay we sat down at the tables each night and played games with the kids and the staff were always very accommodating, we loved our little holiday here. Thank you.

Location is great, easy walk to city centre, hotel staffs were very friendly, helpful, welcoming environment, room was clean. Downside, issue room temperature (not cold), no instruction for guest when fire alarm went on at mid night.

So hotel located in good place, staff are friendly, but everything else just OK, no more then that. For any activity including breakfast you have to made booking for time slot, so if you forgot then, well... Breakfast and pool with kids have to be done in 30 min so, not really fun and holiday becomes to rush rush job. Extending this to 40 min will help dramatically. Food choise for breakfast is OK but you get very basic, not having pancakes (again for kids, not great) Obviosly rooms are very tight - but all hotels at this level is same. Now important, needs some signs on the walls with where everything is on every floor - need Map, I know is not big hotel but walking around and try to found stuff is not fun... If person booked pool that could be added to he's card so no need to ask in reception every time you want to go there and ask to let you in. And last bit, main entrance is falling apart, so when you visiting hotel, first impression is important, and damaged lights above the door sign falling apart it just looks like entering motel rather then hotel. Positive note: rooms are cosy, we had iron, ironing board, kettle, glasses cups and so on, that's very good. TV is working with loads of channels. Food was nice and tasty. Barmen at the bar been very helpful and friendly. So I give 7 - thats probably right. Kind regards G.

Overall pleasant stay, staff very friendly, food was good but a little pricey, room clean and comfortable, unfortunately the check in needs working on as many guests(including ourselves) having to wait around the bar area for the rooms to be ready well after the stated book in time. We were compensated with a complimentary drink from the bar, but unfortunately we were disappointed that our time to spend exploring the beautiful city of York was shortened by the tedious wait after being continuously told the room would be ready in 10mins.

We enjoyed our stay with your accomodation immensely as it offered good value and its location meant that we could easily access the attractions in York that we were interested in. Having an area to park the car and the extensive breakfast menu which was inclusive of gluten free foods meant that we were well catered for during the time we were there.
