Really enjoyed our time here. Service was top quality, the whole hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. Also very quiet and easy stroll to attractions. Breakfast was great, evening meal was only ok. The pool was fab and our daughter loved it. Only quibble is the inexplicable tap in the bathroom. The actual faucet is so far back from the front that it’s tricky to splash water on your face and it was so high our daughter struggled to use it.

I stayed at the Novotel on business. It’s located right in the centre of york so only 10 minutes away from the shambles and tourist sights, which ment i was able to explore the city when i could. The rooms are stunning! and very clean! I was also impressed by their “skip a clean” room tag which you can pop on your door. This was great as i was only staying for 2 nights and didn’t require a room freshen up. Shower was lovely! Dinner and breakfast was great too! Staff were lovely and welcoming and also polite. Would also make conversation which was pleasant.

Stayed overnight when we were going to the Barbican. It's literally a 5 mins walk from Barbican. Also right on the side of the river giving immediate access to walks along there either into the city (5 to 10 mins walk) or going away from the city. Comfortable rooms, lounge and bar area. Excellent choice at breakfast. Plenty of parking. Think we'll be staying here again for a longer trip to York

Was a bit disapointed with the hotel. Staff were good, pool was nice, but that was about it for me. Room (which was a deluxe) was on the small size, lighting wasnt great meaning hotel felt a bit gloomy everywhere, food wasnt great. Heating wasnt working properly in my room and was just letting in constant trickle of cold. Had a rubbish nights sleep and had to use hot water bottle and 2 duvets in early autum. Customer parking was extremely expensive (£18.50 a day).

A very comfortable stay in the Novotel York, we were given an upgrade to a suite which was a welcome surprise. The room itself was spacious and very clean, with a large bathroom. However, both the kettle and the coffee machine in room 154 did not work - the on button on the kettle didn't stay down, meaning the only way water could boil was to stand holding it. The coffee machine was also faulty, with the water coming out the bottom of the machine rather than through the capsule and into the cup. Both were discovered very early in the morning just before I was due to leave, otherwise I would have reported this directly to reception.

Painting the corridor on which my room was made room smell very bad . Hotel changed rooms .

Stayed for two night, one of which was for a pleasant family get-together dinner. Fairly well located for York city centre. Nice lounge, good breakfast and friendly staff. Would be happy to return.

Leak on shower, no toilet lid, air con didnt work, people in hotel very noisey, shower curtain didnt fit shower correctly

I regret that your experience was affected by Maintenance issues and i have requested my Guys to report back after repairing it, House Keeping will also check on the Shower Curtain size, noise disturbances was as a result of the Race weekend we had. Poor value for double occupancy

The family room was not very comfortable, for the price of the night I would have expected at least truckle beds for the kids or mattresses of sorts or even a pull out sofa bed but it was the sofa cushion and metal sofa frame which wasn't suitable and my child couldn't use it. I had to put the sofa cushion on the floor and slept on it so not great.
