Our Swimming Pool & Sauna opened in June 2024. Overlooking the idyllic banks of the River Foss, guests can enjoy a 4-Star, family-friendly stay at our Novotel York Centre hotel. Within a mile of York Minster and York railway station and car parking on site from £19.00 per night we are ideally situated and equipped to look after both leisure and business guests all year round. Spending a weekend at the races? We are a ten minute drive from York Racecourse and an even shorter walk from the Barbican Theatre. Making us great base to enjoy the attractions, events and history that York has to offer.

Had a lovely getaway to York with my partner, and the hotel was a massive part of what made the trip so enjoyable. We were really impressed with the size of the room, the lovely pool and the friendliness of the staff throughout our stay. One of our favourite touches was the map and recommendations we were given on arrival. It was a really nice way to get settled in and helped us make the most of our time in York. We also happened to visit during “Happiness Week”, and the cleaning staff left a couple of small chocolates in our room with a lovely little note. It’s those small, thoughtful touches that really do make a difference and make a stay feel more personal. The only real letdown for us was the lack of supervision and enforcement around the pool. Our first time using it was fantastic: peaceful, relaxing and exactly what we had hoped for. Unfortunately, our second visit was a very different experience, with several people staying beyond their allocated time, throwing a tennis ball across the pool, jumping in with huge cannonballs and splashing other families. It would have been nice to see the pool rules being monitored a little more closely, particularly when the pool was busy for safety. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The friendly staff, thoughtful touches and great facilities really helped make our York getaway a memorable one.
