I stayed here for one night in December 2025. The hotel is located just off one of the main roads into York and has a large carpark (the daily charge is 17 GBP). The hotel is about a 10-minute walk into the centre of town. The room was fine with all the usual amenities. Overall the hotel is what one would expect of a Novotel, although I would hesitate recommending this hotel for business purposes. The lobby was a bit noisy and hectic and at one time there was a dog walking around without a leash - not a professional image.

As a regular York visitor the Novotel is well served by buses has a good car park and is within walking distance of many sites, restaurants and other facilities

We were upgraded and designated "Guest of the Day". Comfy, quiet spacious room overlooking the river ( in flood!). Staff were efficient and smiley and the buffet breakfast was excellent.
