The room, hallway felt really tired, but it did the job! Not the cheapest but basic accommodation. Breakfast, the same, simple but just what you need.

Regularly stay here. Good location, close to town and reasonable price for Leeds on a Saturday night

Road was closed so had to park down the road. A note in the elevator stated its for 3 months. Should have been disclosed at point of booking to save driving round and round looking to get closer Shoddy not very clea room. Poor breakfast ammounts to take. No condiments to hand had to go searching although tasted nice enough. Group of tesidents smoking weed directly outside front door to push through and could be smelt in foyer. Unfortunately im in that area for business fairly often and should have gone to premier inn 150meters away. Shame

Difficult one this. There's not a lot in the area, but in fairness it's only a 10 minute walk from the centre. The actual hotel is probably due a makeover, and is a bit tired. However, the room itself is clean - (again) if basic. The bathroom is a kind of pod, but fit for purpose. The reception staff were polite and efficient. I didn't pay a fortune for my room, so on that basis I would say it's fair value

Unexpected Surprise

My first ever time staying at an IBIS as usually I / we use Premier Inn and see the likes of Ibis and Travel Lodge an inferior brand and a risk to stay. However, on this occasion and due to other hotels being booked up in the area within our price range their was little option than to chance our luck with a very affordable £40 room at Ibis Leeds Centre. A 15 minute walk from the railway station straight down Welling Street the hotel is easy to see when you turn the corner at the roundabout at the end. The reception entrance looked small and gloomy, possibly because of the smoked glass windows and doors, but crossing the threshold, it opened up into a very welcoming booking in area and extended to a decent sized bar and eating area. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and efficient at which point my view of Ibis had started to change for the better. BUT, what of the room? We were asked what view we would like, low floor or high floor and we chose the 9th. 2 very quick elevators to choose from through the security card swipe door from reception, one of which took us swiftly upwards to the 9th floor. We walked out to a stylish lobby and corridor but it was hard to ignore the huge wall / window which looked over the city and almost felt as though you could walk out into the sky, which I thought was a nice design feature to the building. Onto our room just a short walk down the corridor and swiped ourselves into a basic but tidy and clean room. The window being a small security type allowed a decent amount of light in, 4 lamp type lights for illumination, TV, tea, coffee and biscuits, hair dryer in small but nicely contained open wardrobe all ticked the boxes of necessity. The WC was of a modular style so in itself ensured it could easily be cleaned and was in fact spotless on our arrival. Big shower, hot water, complimentary shampoo and body wash and so far very pleased as cleanliness of a room means a lot to the quality of my stay. Down for a beer and a spot of dinner, the bar / seating area very quiet and relaxing, once again very clean. 4 beers on tap a few bottled beers a number of wines and spirits displayed across a smart bar. A pint of Camden Ale and large glass of Pinot £15. The Menu was limited but ample. From a generous portion of Fish Chips and Mushy Peas down to a Toastie. We opted for a light bite ham & cheese toasty (with a bowl of crisps) for £6.50 each. Waiting time was about 8 minutes and it came fresh, hot and packed with filling and once again with a smile for the friendly bar and kitchen staff. After a walk around the area, it was back up to the room and crisp white sheets, firm but comfy bed and extra pillows that are kept in a plastic sealed bag for freshness. The blackout curtain made for a sound sleep as did the total silence and one of the best night's kip I've had in a hotel. We paid in full up front so just a case of dropping the key card into reception and a fond farewell by the next reception shift that wished us a good day. I actually felt valued as a customer and Ibis is now on my list of definite hotels to stay at in the hope that the others are as good as Leeds Center. Highly recommend.
