One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Clean, comfortable and easy to get to. Little walk out of the centre but we'll worth it as its quiet and away from busy streets. Had a fantastic nights sleep and the staff are lovely

Great location easily accessible for city centre but also local facilities such as minimart, restaurants and cinema. Friendly staff; clean and comfortable room. Lovely breakfast (the hash browns were the best I’ve ever tasted).

No TV remote but with such poor lighting it took a while to realise that it simply was not there. Mood lighting is fine at the right time but you do need to turn up to a sensible level occasionally. How else can your cleaners do their job effectively? The staff that evening were very helpful and said that we were not the first to mention this and they were keen for me to raise it with the manager the next morning. I went to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager who only when pressed admitted that it was him. He did not though introduce himself and so I do not have his name but it could be John Holroyd from the reviews I have seen. His first comment was that we were expecting too much as this is only a budget hotel and when I pointed out our frequent use of Ibis Hotels (Ibis Styles Calais is great) entitling us to a free drink all he could say when I mentioned the missing lemon in our G&T (ironically summing up the hotel falling short) that the free drink was only beer and wine! This hotel has such potential but without a manager who can address the issues raised we will be looking elsewhere when next in York. Such a shame as the ALL Accor brand is generally so reliable.

Ok hotel. Clean and the bed was comfortable. My bedroom overlooked the back entrance which had a bright light on all night which seeped around the curtains. What I assume was part of the breakfast service was rattled directly past the window at 6:20am which was very loud and jarring and woke me up. This happened about 3 times before 7am. Parking is very tight, not helped by the fact people are parked outside of marked bays. The shower hose was very twisted and would only point at the wall so had to hold the handset to have a shower.

The hotel was very close to train station and city center. They gave us a room in ground floor first. The window was not opening so we requested a change and they handled it quickly. We have stayed in the 3rd floor (can be reached via elevator but need to climb down some steps in the corridor). The room was small but equipped well. The cleaning could be better in bathroom and the mattress was too soft (not enough support). Other than those everything was good.

Early check in very accommodating...nice designed hotel with everything you need. Dont agree with paid parking esp in such a small area so hard to get a space. Otherwise cannot fault.
