The staff were very friendly and helpful but the hotel had a ‘cheap’ feel about it compared to other Ibis hotels. Oddly constructed with floors between floors and stair cases in rooms. Just odd.

A basic but comfortable hotel with small rooms which are totally adequate when you are out all day. We were able to check-in a little early which was brilliant and also able to have a parking space. The breakfast was better than expected!

Handy for York railway station and the city centre...but creaking floors meant everyone made a noise - especially annoying when people are rolling up at 3am

Good staff were very helpful and nothing was too much to ask. Excellent breakfast was plentiful and hot. Good location to city with only a 10 minute or so stroll in. Tight parking. Only negative was the shower which needs upgrading to a thermostatic model as our one ran hot and cold. Overall a good hotel and very good value for money.

3 night trip, great location from train station and in area of restaurants pubs etc., fantastic reception staff, nice quiet room at the back. Breakfast was ok, catering staff not particularly clued up on allergens but waitress as helpful as she could be. Lightbulbs blew on first night and although bathroom replaced we still had no light in the main room, towels not changed and tea/coffee facilities not replenished on 2nd despite leaving the tag on the door. Reception staff were great, other staff unfortunately no quite so - maybe a customer service course for them, starting with a smile and a ‘Good Morning’? Comfortable bed, you get what you pay for

We have stayed many times and on this occasion we were allocated one of your 'family rooms' which consisted of 4 single beds and a connecting door. Initially we didn't see this as an issue, once returning to our room in the evening we were watching tv and all of a sudden heard the next room return. The noise was ridiculous, once next door had put their tv on it's all we could hear along with every word they were saying. I understand the need for connecting doors sometimes but this particular room had no sound proofing at all. I tried to cover the cracks of the doors with clothing to seeing if it would muffle the sound but to no avail. By 11.15pm my little girl was still awake and couldn't sleep, neither could I. I went to reception to see if we could be moved for the night and the reception staff member moved us with no questions asked, I was very impressed with our new room which I believe is a new room recently converted from a meeting room. We were very grateful to the reception staff member, he is absolutely a credit to your organisation. I didn't get his name but he was the older of the two Male staff who were working that night. Once we had moved our stay was perfect.

This was an awful experience to which I have already raised a complaint and heard nothing back. Charged the wrong rates, not told times for breakfast so missed all food.

A par for the course Ibis stay, value for money basic but adequate accommodation , comfortable bed , friendly helpful staff , good breakfast for the price and nice bar food . However the shower was poor, low water pressure and temperature kept changing. The other point I should make is that whilst we were on the 3rd floor we then had to walk down about 10 steps to the extension where our room was. This would be an issue for people with real mobility problems and we were not asked at reception whether this room would be ok.

We were given room 118 where the bathroom was unkempt. The lino was all marked and outside the shower was dirty. We had a shower the next morning only to discover that the shower door only locked at the top and missing from the bottom therefore the bathroom floor was flooded. I went do speak to the receptionist who gave us another room 2 that had been renovated. On the Saturday night (first night) we asked the young boy working for more tea bags and a towel however they did not arrive. So the following morning we were not happy. The staff appear to be extremely young. The young ladies were extremely helpful. I understand the hotel is 2 star however you still wish for a clean bathroom. Even room 2 the outside of the shower was slightly dirty so I was lucky enough to show the housekeeping what to do! Unless I was guaranteed a renovated room I would not stay in that hotel again.

Arrived mid afternoon and parked straight away in the car park which was a bonus.very friendly and efficient check in and our room was clean and a nice bed and bathroom.At the price we paid this is a good value clean and friendly hotel and we shall use again.

Friendly staff and clean room but although I reported shower in room 201 it was not dealt with. One minute nice temperature then scolding you then cold. Very dangerous if a youngster under it. Will use facility again
