The space around the bed was minimal but there is an elevator to get upstairs. The place is well maintained and the breakfast looked good but we skipped it to leave early.

Comfy bed, friendly staff and lovely breakfast in the morning. Room and hotel was very clean and the location was fantastic. Only down fall was the water in the shower kept changing temperatures, scorching hot one minute and freezing the next

The room was basic. A few minor changes could make a difference. No hand towel very small thin bath towel. No plug ear a mirror so drying/styling hair difficult.

The reception staff were welcoming, hotel has good facilities although I didn’t use them. The housekeeping was below standard. No pillowcases on two pillows and one dirty pillow case, meaning only one pillow was useable. Duvets are very thin. Plughole in shower didn’t drain water away fast enough. Very noisy as soundproofing is non existent so constant door banging heard all night and activity of occupants in neighbouring rooms can be heard clearly.

Very disappointed given the cost of the room. It was cold, the heating was barely working and there was no heat source at all in the bathroom. The plug hole in the sink was blocked (could not drain the sink), the shower head was impossible to turn so pointed at the wall and there were no plug sockets by the beds. Very poor quality for such a high price.

The room was very small and outdated but considering it was so close to York city centre that’s probably what I should have expected for the price. My first impression was that the room was dirty even though it was clean enough - there were a few nasty stains on the carpet that probably couldn’t be removed and a thick layer of dust inside the sash window that couldn’t be reached. Check-in and check-out was easy and the staff were pleasant.

Parking was just behind the hotel which was excellent, we arrived at 12 but could not check in any later and there would not have been car parking space so we felt we had chosen the best option. We left our bags in the car and went shopping and checked in later that afternoon. Warm, cosy room, not too noisy during the night, excellent breakfast and lovely, helpful staff. Would have liked 2 big bath towels in our room as the 2 each we had were more hair towels and as there were two of us we had to share the two available. Small issue, would stay again and ask for more towels.

The location of the hotel is fantastic, a short 10 minute walk into the centre. The building itself is lovely, and the rooms are a good size for the price. We were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception who explained everything to us. The bed was a good size, and we were pleased to find both heating and air con facilities in the room. However, the underneath of the air con was very dirty with dust. Very thick and grey. The pillows were *very* hard to lay on, and the spares provided were even harder! There was minimal traffic noise despite being on a main road. The parking situation isn’t great, however being where it is I don’t see how you can expand the car park. We would definitely stay again if we were in York!

Satisfactory. The cost of room on Saturday night is over priced. The rooms are cleaned ok but basic. Furniture and floor covering very tired. Towels, only one each, were clean but basic. Tea and coffee provided in room was fine.

Room was clean but the whole hotel needs a refurb. Never thought artex still existed. Good location but car park is extremely tight and small.

A comfortable stay however the room was too hot. We had to open the window which meant it was quite noisy. 15 - 20 minute walk into the centre, a bit further than we thought it would be.

1> Broken light above mirror 2> Broken extractor fan in bathroom 3> Foul smell from sink We reported this to reception on checkout. The response was "Oh, the drain is blocked". If they were already aware of the problem why wasn't it fixed before the room was allocated to us?

Check in was easy but our room wasn't ready so given a different one. Carpet was a bit tatty and stained. Shower was hot and powerful :)
