Check in was easy but our room wasn't ready so given a different one. Carpet was a bit tatty and stained. Shower was hot and powerful :)

As expected. Clean comfortable and friendly reception staff. The only down side was my morning shower. Upon turning the water on, the face of the shower head flew clean off and it wouldn't reattach. I had to try and wash myself with a meagre trickle.

The room and bathroom was very small and the room it’s self seemed to have not been cleaned fully due to cobwebs on the wall and dust behind the tv. The pillows weren’t very soft so it made it uncomfortable to sleep on. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was really good but only one choice of eggs on the breakfast buffet. Seemed to have spend more time on the downstairs rather than the rooms In my option

Me and my wife stayed 2 nights at ibis in York. Room was ok but fairly small, not much room round one side of bed. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work properly. Room was clean, no noise. Staff helpful.

First impressions were fine in the lobby, until we got to our room. It was the most unclean place I’ve ever stayed in, there were pubic hairs everywhere, all over the bathroom floor, on the toilet, in the shower, and most disgustingly in and around the sink. Facilities were very outdated, peeling of paint, rusting in the bathroom, mirror propped up by bits of wood, the extractor fan in the bathroom was full of dust and the heater/air on in the room was falling to bits with various chunks of dust hanging off of it, and the bedding had holes in. So I went downstairs and asked if I could swap rooms because of the cleanliness issue. Not a word from the receptionist, just scanned a new card and said ‘try next door’, no sorry or anything. So we moved all of our things next door to find basically the same again, the AC was better, but the bedding in this room was stained, more pubic hairs, and I moved the curtain and they were the most disgustingly stained curtains I’ve ever seen! I asked to move again, and we moved again to a different room, which seemed to have better facilities, and a better view, which I would imagine was more expensive. This room was relatively clean, not great, but bearable, and again the curtain had staining. But I think it’s disgusting you would have to pay a lot more, for a moderately better facilitated room just to have somewhere be clean. That should be a basic, no matter what room you buy. After swapping rooms a few times I gave up and we settled for what seemed to be the best we were going to get. We slept fine, but other guests care back at 2am and continuously yelled and stomped up and down the corridor for a further hour, then they all got up at 7 am and did the same thing. I understand noisy guests can’t be helped but a member of staff really should have asked them to keep their voices down at that time of night. We didn’t bother with breakfast as if you can’t even clean a room to a basic standard, I certainly don’t trust the hygiene standards of your kitchen. I won’t be staying again, as not a lot was done about these issues, no one said sorry. The only thing that was good was the location, parking, and the lobby was well presented.

Overnight stay first visit to York to go to national railway museum. Check in quick and friendly, room clean and warm and excellent breakfast. Highly recommend hotel as close to York city center and various pubs and restaurants. Will certainly use Ibis York for future visits.

The room was poorly decorated, very basic furnishings and fixtures and the whole floor was slanted and this meant the bed did too which resulted in us sliding across the bed. I expect more for a room that costs £100 for a night

POOR. WHILE DOGS CAN STAY, THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED IN RESTAURANT - BUT NEARBY PUBS AND RESTAURANTS ALLOW DOGS SO WHY NOT YOUR HOTEL WHEN DOGS CAN STAY?. TOLD WAS DUE TO HEALTH AND HYGIENE - BUT THIS WOULD APPLY ELKSEWHERE TOO SO ITS NOT CORRECT. IN MIDDLE OF CORRIDOR SO DOGS BARKED WHEN PEOPLE WENT PAST. SOME GUESTS COMPLAINED IT WAS ALL NIGHT, IT WASNT, ABOUT 10-11PM AND AT 2.30AM WHEN DRUNK GUEST WENT PAST. HAD A VERBAL ALTERCATION WITH A STILL DRUNK GUST FOLLOWING MORNING. BREAKFAST....HAD TO ASK FOR MORE FOOD TO BE BROUGHT OUT, THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE AUTOMATICALLY ......... VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. Poor condition room with mouldy windows and rotten windowsill. Sheets had holes in them and the bath didnt stay full as it quickly leaked through the plug that doesn't seal. On a positive note: it's close to york centre.

The stay was a good experience as usual for my second stay at the ibis hotel. The pillows could be improved as they were a little hard, I'd also like to mention that my sponge that I had brought with me was thrown out by a maid, but other than that it was a great experience, the staff were really nice and managed to change our room from a twin to a double as I was staying with my fiancee.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff and wonderful breakfast. The only issue was the shower temperature fluctuated during use, but once you realised it would happen you got wise enough to stand back for a minute, but no great problem. The whole room was very clean.
