Great stay, had to repeatedly email to get questions asked prior to stay but friendly staff on arrival and during stay. Room and food great, stay spoiled somewhat by people arriving in room 308 opposite in the wee hours and talking at full volume and playing loud music until check out, staff seemed well aware in the morning, seemed like problem customers. Otherwise highly recommended and will stay again.

The hotel is in a great location, a few nearby shops and 10 mins walk to heart of York. Most of the staff were lovely, no queue to check in, and luggage storage on our final day so we could explore a little more was great. The room was a mixed bag, quite small but nicely decorated, and a very comfy bed. Was quite dusty though, and the Aircon/heater while very effective is extremely loud. Two main issues with our stay, my partner uses a mobility aid, and the lift to the hotel entrance was out of order. While we didn't request a specific accessible room as she can furniture walk well enough, we were put in a room that even after getting a lift to our floor required a set of stairs to reach. Also Ibis Styles are advertised online as having 24 hour service with soft drinks and snacks available all night, when my partner went to reception to ask about this at around midnight, the person on the desk simply shook his head and walked away. While I'd probably stay in an Ibis again, we would avoid this particular hotel in future.
