the bathroom was very dated from the 1980s and was mouldy. The shower only provided a trickle of water. The bed and pillows were hard and lumpy. The walls were very thin. I had not been informed of an event taking place when I booked which is poor service and there was very loud music until 1am in the morning. I was offered another room however the key card would not let me in so I had to stay in the room with loud music and could hear the other guests next door being very loud! The worst experience in a hotel I have ever had. This is not 4 star more like 2 star at best.

All guests were informed that the event would be taking place and we regret if this information was not clearly communicated or did not reach you as intended. We are also disappointed to read your comments regarding the bathroom condition, water pressure, and the comfort of the bed and pillows. This is certainly not the standard we strive to provide. Your feedback has been shared with our maintenance and housekeeping teams so these matters can be thoroughly investigated and addressed. Regarding the alternative room offered, we apologise for the issue with the key card and for the frustration this caused. This is not the seamless service experience we aim to deliver, and we are sorry that we were unable to resolve the situation for you on the night. We would also like to apologise for the wait you experienced at check-in. On busy evenings we do usually have two team members manning the reception desk; however, on this occasion we received a higher number of last-minute bookings than anticipated, which unfortunately led to longer waiting times. We are sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We value all guest feedback as it allows us to improve, and we take your comments seriously. While we regret that your experience has left you feeling this way, we do hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide the 4-star experience we are proud to offer. Room was spacious and tidy and we had everything we needed inside. However the toilet flush was broken and the mattresses were incredibly soft. There was work being done on our neighbouring rooms' doors so there wasn't many moments of quiet unfortunately which was what we had expected. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful though and made us feel very welcomed. We didn't eat there as the food was too expensive for us.

Came to the area to visit a friend and decided to add on a Sunday night hotel stay ( bath night). As a gold member of AllAcor , I used the app to book and was pleased to receive the automatic upgrade...more so, as it was to a junior suite. Reception staff brilliant, bar and leisure club staff also wonderful. OK the hotel could do with a little bit of an update - the bathroom was a bit 'crossroads motel' but perfectly clean and usable. My junior suite was well presented and I couldn't find fault. The room service quickly delivered and good value ... Once again I ordered from the children's menu ( I'm trying to lose weight) and found the portions perfectly adequate... perhaps generous and very good value. Breakfast at only £12 extra was extremely good value. Due to there not being many guests on the Monday morning, the cooked offerings were done on demand and both quickly served and generous. Excellent fayre. Nothing to complain about at all. Very much liked a pool table to practice on too. All in all a good value, well delivered and appreciated stay.

Excellent customer service from friendly and efficient staff. Great choice at breakfast and evening food in the restaurant was very good. The only disappointment was the standard of the pool changing rooms and the jacuzzi was freezing cold.
