The rooms was filthy .. there was an awful smell throughout the corridor .. Most of the staff where lovely apart from one The jacuzzi was broken We checked out early and went home

Very disappointing .. filthy and dated rooms

Very disappointed, upgraded our room however it was filthy, thick dust all over the furniture, it smelt dirty as well. Very dated rooms. We were offered a new room - there was an issue in the hotel with a revolting smell, similar to gas .. we were informed by 2 members of staff gas engineers had been out and all safe. The smell was awful .. the new room was tainted with that awful smell so we ended up checking out and leaving as we didn’t wasn’t to move for a third time. I struggled with my asthma whilst in the hotel so not sure what’s going on but it’s not good. Managed to get a refund the day after with minimal communication from the hotel. The jacuzzi wasn’t in use, we didn’t not get chance ti use the leisure facilities. Most of staff were lovely and the breakfast was decent.

If it wasn't for the croissants our stay would have been an unmitigated disaster.

This was one of the worst Mercure hotel stays we have ever experienced, and we have stayed in many around the world. A family celebration in Beverley was completely undermined by our stay in a hotel that was not clean; whose leisure facilities were either not working or dangerous; whose reception staff with one exception were unhelpful and rude; whose rooms looked like they had been fashioned from a Samuel Beckett stage such was the minimalist approach; whose bathrooms looked like a set of an Alan Bennett play, and with dangerously hot water; whose bar lacked cleanliness, atmosphere and often bar personnel; whose overall interior was musty and dusty as if from another era - without the charm; whose housekeeping was non-existent for us on the first night of our 2-day stay.

The hotel is a bit outdated and needs some renovation. There were leaks in the ceiling and huge stains on the carpets in corridors- and a sign on the wall next to it saying you are proud of cleanliness at your hotel. I also used the laundry service and luckily it was fine, but my colleague, who travelled with me had a few pieces of his garment lost and was told you never had such problems with the dry cleaners you use and that was it. The breakfast was also very poor quality and limited in options, hardly no vegetables available. I wouldn't stay in the hotel again, if I had to travell to Hull.
