Stayed for 5 nights on BB&EM option. All the food was lovely and the serving team very efficient. Amazing bed, so big and comfortable. Didn’t drink much as the prices were quite high.

Really enjoyed my stay the whole town was lovely and clean. Thank you to katelyn for organising my stay and also a huge thank you to the gentleman that is on the bar, Who went out of his way to order me a risotto after restaurant closing time. great service and such a friendly smile all the time!

No “hot” water 3 out of the 4 days of our stay Wine over-priced; charging 4 times amount for a bottle you can purchase in the shops for £6/£8 a bottle Rooms tired-trims and handles missing from bedside tables and dresser. Lights not working, light fittings not cleaned where previous maintenance had been carried out Initial housekeeping standard/supplies lower than should be… no soap/shower gel & limited tea/milk provided.

We were very happy with our suite and the value for money aspect, B&B (good breakfast & see below); &carparking. Also a good location for visiting the City. Issues, (and I know it is hard with Covid)! One of our rooms not ready for a 3.00pm check-in. Our side of the hotel had no lift, a potential problem for one our party, and perhaps this should have been mentioned at the time of booking. Weekday breakfast finishes at 9.30; not as stated on some parts of the hotel website which states 10.00. Trying to order from the bar on your room tab and then having to take your key back to reception to get authorised was a bit weird! Otherwise all good, obviously staff levels are a bit down and some staff seemed quite new to the environment. Good grounds and interior.

After looking forward to A romantic stay away me and my partner were disappointed to be offered an adapted room with adjoining door, neither of us required this and a bathroom is very important to a couple. We were given no choice paid full price and I have to say it was the worst nights sleep I’ve had with noise from next door. Not sure I would stay here again.

We had no running water in the room from Friday evening until Saturday late afternoon ( 5pm ) so were unable to shower/clean up which was not ideal to say the least. We were not informed of this issue when we checked in or updated at at any other stage while the problem lasted. We only received updates when we spoke to reception which quite frankly is poor customer service. As a diamond and business member I traded in a large amount of points that I have accumulated over the time staying at Accor Hotels which quite frankly I believe should be returned to me as we were seriously inconvenienced by this issue. Apart from this the stay was comfortable with no issues.

Hello Stephen, Firstly I would like to apologise for the issues that we had with our water during your stay. We were unaware of the issue until you reported yours to the desk which is when we got into contact with the contractors to get this fixed. Unfortunately this fix took a significant time longer than we had anticipated and hoped for. I'm sorry that we did not give updates unless you came to reception however we were dealing with a large number of guests who also had the same issue that evening. We would be more than happy to reimburse the points you used against your stay for you. On the first night there was an issue with the water which I was told was hotel wide . It was workable and didn’t cause us any undue stress or hassle . The second night was brilliant with all the facilities in good working order.

The hotel is well situated for York and the surrounding area. The hotel felt tired and in need of modernisation. The bathroom door lock didn't work well and managed to lock itself when we weren't in there. The hot water tap needed turning a long way before water came through and the name on the cold water tap had come off. Unfortunately the zfact that the hot water and toilet water was off on Friday night and Saturday morning was not a good experience Having visited several mecure and novotel hotels around the world, I felt the variety of breakfast food was very limited in comparison The suggestion that the hotel had a gym but the fact this was about 2 miles away was disappointing The beds and pillows were not as comfortable as I have experienced elsewhere

I didn’t have a good stay I’m afraid. On arrival there was no water in my room to flush the loo or have a bath/shower - no water was coming out the taps. I reported this and received no apology but information about an issue with the tanks that would be fixed soon. This still wasn’t resolved by a few hours later. On departure in the morning the water was back on but a small trickle with low pressure meaning still no shower or bath. I left the hotel after breakfast as I had a meeting to go to - I reported the water issue again in the morning and again received no apology nor compensation offer.

Room was clean but very dated. Staff very friendly but we're obviously understaffed as much multi tasking was being undertaken. A pleasant stay but did feel for staff who were trying to do their best in a difficult situation.

The Hotel is nicely located just outside of York centre. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Condition of the hotel from the outside is very attractive and the inside is well maintained for its age.

Due to Covid we had to cancel visit in June 2020 and rescheduled for September 2021. Cancellation and re booking was an easy process and we were welcomed by lovely lady on reception who explained hotel policies. Room was spotless and breakfast was plentiful. If I was to be picky I would say that the dining room was not big enough to hold all who wanted to eat around 9 am and we did have to wait for a table. Overall 10/10

The hotel was very nice and comfortable.The bedroom we stayed in was very clean but did need a little TLC if I’m being a honest. Unfortunately, as in most of the hospitality sector at the moment the hotel was understaffed. But having said that the staff at the hotel were literally running between all departments and worked long shift patterns! They were always friendly, helpful and on hand too anything you needed and required. I really hope the company appreciates there employees they have, hospitality is hard going. We would definitely choose this hotel again to stay at, the breakfast was particularly good! A huge choice of food and something for everyone!
