Was not able to check in due to requiring physical payment card. Have not experienced this restriction in any other Accor brand hotel I've stayed in, and on checking my booking on the Accor app, there was no information stating that this was a requirement. I was more than happy to pay upon arrival, but was told that no other method of payment was accepted and therefore check in could not be completed. I had to wait 50 minutes in the lobby for the friend who was also staying to arrive, who happened to have a payment card and ask if she could instead pay the bill. Upon checking in finally, I was given a handwritten slip of paper for the Silver welcome drinks - whilst not a big issue, there was no explanation as to why the normal in-app voucher was not accepted at this location. This is much more convenient. Going up to the room, another guest also complained to me about the payment issue as she had had to ask her mother to pay for her. Clearly communication about needing a physical card is not clear, and in 2026, a card is not something that all people carry with them. Male receptionist was not particularly friendly or understanding about this issue, although the two female receptionists that I did speak to during my stay were exemplary.

Firstly, please accept our sincere apologies for the frustration you experienced at check-in. We completely understand how inconvenient and disappointing it must have been to be unable to complete your check-in immediately, and we genuinely sympathise with the situation you found yourself in. Unfortunately, due to our current payment terminals not being fully compatible with our booking system, we are unable to accept Apple Pay or other digital wallet payments at check-in. We do encounter this issue on a daily basis, and we appreciate how frustrating it can be — particularly as many guests understandably no longer carry a physical payment card. We do state the accepted methods of payment on the Accor website, and the terms and conditions also advise that a physical payment card may be required at check-in. However, we recognise that this may not always be clearly visible during the booking journey, especially when using the app, and your feedback highlights how important clearer communication is. We will certainly pass your comments on to the relevant teams. We are pleased to share that we are hoping to transition to Apple Pay–compatible systems in the coming months. We truly hope that this will prevent similar situations in the future and improve the arrival experience for our guests. We are also sorry that the welcome drink voucher was issued as a handwritten slip rather than through the app, and that this was not properly explained to you at the time. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Finally, while we are glad to hear that the two female receptionists you encountered were exemplary, we are sorry that you did not feel the same level of understanding from our male receptionist. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and your feedback will be addressed internally. Thank you again for your honest comments. We truly value your loyalty and hope that, despite this experience, we will have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide you with a much smoother stay in the future.

The hotel was pleasant, with a comfortable room, and friendly reception staff. Unfortunately it was impossible to open a window, so the air in the room was not as fresh as I would have liked it, particularly after showering. Breakfast started at 6:30 AM, and for a nature photographer that's too late, I was usually leaving around 6:45. I asked if I could pay for breakfast and make myself a take away breakfast at 6:30, but this was denied.

I really liked this hotel. It's located very conveniently in the city centre. It's clean, modern, nicely decorated throughout. Our room was very cosy and our bathroom was clean. I liked that the housekeeping was provided every day. We got a good sleep every night. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel though as I think the price for the breakfast is a proper rip-off.
