As an elderly couple we found the stairs into the hotel and our rooms very inconvenient. I was very concerned that as a platinum member of many years standing I was not offered a free welcoming drink of an alcoholic beverage and was not given later checkout. The bathrooms did not give a shower and we found it difficult to use bath no separate shower . No mat very dangerous .

Too far out of Amboise

The hotel is set in spacious gardens but is in an unattractive industrial area and a car is needed to access beautiful Amboise. Reception is extremely friendly and helpful and the receptionist speaks excellent English which is a great help. The rooms are smallish with no armchair so it’s necessary to lie on the bed. The bed is huge and extremely comfortable. We slept well. The shower has a very high step to get in or out and my husband had to be called to assist me in and out, a grab handle is needed. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice but a table for two straight in front of the hot drinks machine made access very difficult. The evening meal had very little choice and everything was cold. We’d make sure to have eaten out if we stayed again. To conclude, the distance from Amboise and the very poor evening meal lost the two points.

After a long day's drive from Worcestershire UK we needed a good rest. A good breakfast then set us up for the rest of the journey to the Lot Valley.
