We stayed at the ibis Nuernberg City am Plaerrer for a long weekend in mid-November 2025, primarily to catch the opening of the famous Christkindlesmarkt. Overall, our stay was perfectly satisfactory, with the hotel's main selling point being its incredible convenience. The Good: The location is, without a doubt, the best thing about this hotel. It is literally steps away from the Plärrer U-Bahn station, which is a major hub. This made getting from the airport an absolute breeze. We were able to walk to the Old Town (Altstadt) in about 10-15 minutes, which was perfect. We walked to the Christkindlesmarkt in the Hauptmarkt every evening. Even in the cold November weather, it was a pleasant and easy stroll. The staff were all very friendly and professional, and check-in was quick and efficient. The "Satisfactory": This is a standard ibis, so you know exactly what you're getting. The room was basic, compact, but very clean. The "Sweet Bed" was definitely comfortable, and the soundproofing was surprisingly good. The room is functional for sleeping and showering, the buffet breakfast is a standard Ibis one. Final Verdict: If you are looking for a luxury or "charming" German hotel experience, this isn't it. However, if you want a clean, safe, and comfortable base with a fantastic location for exploring Nuremberg, this hotel is a solid and satisfactory choice. For a weekend trip where we spent most of our time out in the city, it met our needs perfectly. I would consider staying here again for the price and sheer convenience.

Very friendly helpful staff member. She checked me in fast and with a smile. I like this hotel. It’s near everything. I love the fact the rooms have two doors which drowns out all noise from corridors. All ibis hotels should have this.
