The hotel is out of town so the restaurant was important, but it was closed and we weren’t advised beforehand. The room heating didn’t work and the temperature was 15C so we slept in our clothes. The receptionist was helpful and offered additional duvets and an offer to transfer to the centre of Châlons-en-Champagne but our vehicle was too large. The refurbishment was very good but the room comfort and facilities fell well below the expected standard. I expected a partial refund for the lower than advertised standard and lack of basic fundamentals (heating) but nothing was forthcoming.

There were loud gurgling noises from the pipework or aircon all night so didn’t sleep properly at all. The cutlery/plates etc at breakfast weren’t clean. It all felt grubby. I would not stay again. However the staff were friendly & welcoming.

I booked 2 x twin rooms and was given 2 x double rooms. We are a family travelling with 2 teenage boys, double beds do not work - hence I booked twin rooms. We still only got 1 twin room. The hotel and rooms had a smell of stale smoke all over. The room felt dirty and smelly. The receptionist did her best and was very helpful.
