A very isolated hotel with no draught beer, limited catering options and not many facilities

Dangerous glass mirror on staircase landing, could cause unthinkable harm if a child broke it. Our bedroom window almost opaque.Room 111. Similar to our last visit no draught beer available leaving us to have to purchase bottled beer if we wanted to drink beer. Room door needed alot of strength to push it open, or pull it open from inside.

Well located for an over night stop near the autoroute on the way to Le Shuttle from Austria. Rooms were small but adequate.

Hotel is well located for overnight stop on way to South of France from UK. Small rooms but clean. Can walk to town at night for food. Breakfast was good. Dog friendly.

Nice hotel, helpful staff, but …. Ordered steak frites in the restaurant, expected a steak but got a burger. 18.50€ is a lot for burger and chips. I stayed in a twin room (103 from memory) where I think the beds could be joined to form a double, and there was a fairly solid tab on the bed nearest the window which took a chunk out of my ankle and made it bleed profusely.

The hotel claims to be newly renovated, but our bathroom had not been refreshed. The basin had marks all over it. The room was small, the bathroom poor quality, and it simply was not worth the money.

The hotel is out of town so the restaurant was important, but it was closed and we weren’t advised beforehand. The room heating didn’t work and the temperature was 15C so we slept in our clothes. The receptionist was helpful and offered additional duvets and an offer to transfer to the centre of Châlons-en-Champagne but our vehicle was too large. The refurbishment was very good but the room comfort and facilities fell well below the expected standard. I expected a partial refund for the lower than advertised standard and lack of basic fundamentals (heating) but nothing was forthcoming.

There were loud gurgling noises from the pipework or aircon all night so didn’t sleep properly at all. The cutlery/plates etc at breakfast weren’t clean. It all felt grubby. I would not stay again. However the staff were friendly & welcoming.

I booked 2 x twin rooms and was given 2 x double rooms. We are a family travelling with 2 teenage boys, double beds do not work - hence I booked twin rooms. We still only got 1 twin room. The hotel and rooms had a smell of stale smoke all over. The room felt dirty and smelly. The receptionist did her best and was very helpful.
