Not a great experience

We were initially given to keys to a ground floor room that once opening the door we were hit by the most horrendous smell. We requested a change of room to be given one on the first floor. It became immediately apparent that there was a problem with the air conditioning as the ventilation system was blowing out hot air. We were for Ed to sleep with the windows open due to the temperature which due to Road noise and church bell chimes meant that we did not have a good nights sleep. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Pleasant hotel, ideally located

The Ibis Dijon Sud is a pleasant, modern hotel, conveniently located close to a filling station and a shopping centre (with no associated problems of noise or other disturbance). It is a little way from the autoroute but not enough to cause any real delay. The rooms are fine, with a comfortable bed and with a good shower, although our shower was a bit grubby on the outside and there is a big step from the tray to get out of it. The restaurant is clean and bright, with a good ambiance. Dinner was enjoyable and not too expensive. The breakfast was excellent. The members of staff were very welcoming, helpful, and generally delightful. Thank you, Ibis Dijon Sud Paul and Alison S.

The lady at the reception desk was very welcoming, gave us great evening meal options, despite our late arrival, and recommended a great beer on tap. Room decor a little dated, but all very clean and functional.

IBIS Dijon Sud: Buen hotel pero no cerca de la autopista route du soleil

Hotel was rather far away from the highway. Room was ok however the light switch of the bathroom was not ok. Breakfast was limited, not the same as in IBIS Valence. But paid the same price. Beds were good. IBIS hotel was not able to take the money from my ING master creditcard which is a common card. Very strange. This resulted in mails, and the 200 euro reservation on my creditcard was not removed. Even not one week after I payed the bill the hotel. Very bad. At this moment still the reservation is on meaning that I cannot spend the max with my card.

Really clean, comfortable and well-designed

Stopping off on way back to UK from the Alps, the hotel was easy to find, welcoming and comfortable. My 10 year old son walked into our family room and said ‘wow! This is executive level’!

Very pleasant and grateful for a gluten free breakfast

Good Overnight Stop

We stayed for an overnight stop on our journey south. Hotel was very modern looking and the communal areas are decorated very well. The rooms were a bit dated though and very basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming. We had a nice evening meal in the restaurant and the breakfast was also good so overall a good place to stay.

Room was good bathroom was smelly

Disappointed with the bathroom and standard of cleanliness as toilet area really smelt. Good room though with comfy beds.

One night stopover

Customer review rating 3.0/5

Julie Couples - Confirmed reviews ALL

Fairly basic double room which was fine for a one night stopover. The room was tolerable although the floor hadn’t been cleaned for some time and had a large liquid stain by the bed, also one over most of the bedside table. Breakfast wasn’t quite up to expected Ibis standards but I guess was a reflection of current financial issues. Cereal choice was cornflakes, Frosties or Coco pops, no muesli or pepites and the fruit salad was just unpleasant. At least we had a reasonable nights sleep and the area was fairly quiet despite being by the main road and retail/industrial estate.

Has potential but many flaws

My ground floor room had a huge window but no curtains other than light excluders, leaving me either in full view or complete darkness. The bed was made badly so thar the sheets and mattress protector came loose with every movement and wrinkled into painful folds. There was black mould in the shower and the toilet roll holder loose.

My experience is positive, but because of one topic that I share with Ibis every single time: In a temperature-controlled room, the quilt makes you feel hot and sweaty. No other options? sheet and blanket? Lighter quilt? I usually have to pen the quilt cover, remove it and use the cover as a sheet. it makes me think of coming back to Ibis.

Good Stay

En transition

TripAdvisor rating 3.0/5

peegee34 Couples - TripAdvisor review

New facade but battered and well hidden, shabby entrance doors. On entering the reception I asked "are you open" and the reply was yes and we are "en transition" i.e being totally refurbished. Our room was up tot he usual good standard of an Ibis, comfortable bed, clean etc. However it had yet to be refurbished, indicated by scuffle paintwork and a broken aircon control switch. We chose this Ibis specifically because it had a restaurant but on arrival discovered that there was no chef on a Sunday and the menu was 3 courses with 2 options on each course. We went down at 7.15pm to eat by which time only one choice remained for the main course despite only 3 other tables being occupied. In fairness we slept well but find it astounding that nowhere on the website did it indicate "en transition" or that there was a very limited menu/ no chef on a Sunday.

This was I second visit to this particular Ibis - I'm pleased to say the receptionist on that evening was fantastic , not like the one that welcomed us on our September visit Miserable Old Fart. We have used the Ibis in Barcelona and think there food selection is better.

Welcome to the building site!

JCBHerneBay Couples - TripAdvisor review

Standard out of town location, excellent staff however difficult to spot as the building only appears to be half finished from most angles, had to ask a friendly lady in the petrol station opposite to point us in the right direction. No mention of this on the Accor website. It will be very nice when it's finished.

Stayed one night at this hotel on the way back from skiing. Room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of variet and good quality food. Easy access to the autoroute and cheap fuel at the supermarket next door make it a good choice if travelling long distance and a place to stau overnight.
