We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel La Cloche Dijon. Great location and amazing breakfast! We got a room with the courtyard view. The room was very clean and comfortable, but a little odd to have the toilet separated from the bathroom. There were a few minor technological challenges: the expresso coffee maker was not working, the hair dryer plug was loose and kept coming out of the wall outlet during use; the phone stopped working towards the end of our stay and my partner got stuck for a few minutes in the elevator. Besides that we had a great time and we highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing experience at this hotel where the staff is so attentive to your each and every request. The rooms are beautifully decorated with artwork from the fine arts museum. Not to mention its very convenient position five minutes walk from the station. I will not hesitate to stay here again!

Our recent stay at La Cloche was deeply disappointing and fell far short of 5-star standards. Upon arrival, our original room (Room 114) had a strong, undeniable smell of cigarette smoke. We raised the issue immediately. The operations person came to the room and admitted they knew someone had smoked inside the day before. This raises a massive red flag: why would a luxury hotel knowingly assign a smoke-damaged room to incoming guests? We were kindly moved to Room 414, which had no smell but lacked the balcony we originally wanted but no problem. The situation turned from a simple mistake into a systemic issue when my friends checked in later that day. Shockingly, the hotel attempted to assign them to the exact same room (Room 114). Because my friend speaks French, they overheard the staff discussing the smoke odor before handing over the keys. My friends had to complain immediately to be moved to a clean room. It is completely unacceptable to knowingly pass a defective room from one guest to another, and stupidly so when they knew we were a group. At checkout, things did not improve. When asked about my stay, I brought up these issues. The front desk tried to offer compensation but showed zero alignment with my actual folio. First, they offered to waive my breakfast, but I never ate breakfast (though they had mistakenly charged me for it anyway). Next, they offered to waive parking, but I did not bring a car. Ultimately, I told them I would simply wait for a call from the general manager to resolve the matter properly. To date, I have received no contact whatsoever. Beautiful properties mean nothing without proper service, proactive management, and basic honesty. I cannot recommend this hotel in its current state.
