I believe this visit was much improved over the last in June of 2021. The staff were cheerier, better trained and more responsive. The building needs a refresh and some maintenance is due. In Room 231, use of the shower resulted in flooding on the floor because the drain was blocked.

Rooms are okay. Small bed for two. We asked for a room closer to the exit/entrance as we had two dogs, nothing available. Dinner wasn’t very good at all. In the morning garden taken over by workers and leaf blowers. The only good thing was the breakfast.

”Check-in worked well. The man knew his job but he was not friendly, far to formal for this role. Room very good and food at the restaurant super. The staff at the resto very friendly but totally disorganised and seemed not very professional. Ex. I odered a dessert and after twenty minutes I was informed that they did not have it!? Amazing! No attempt to find another alternativ or to compensate.

Réception very friendly and welcoming. Toilet cystern area was damaged so corridor outside smelt of drains, not pleasant but did improve or we got used to it. Facilities for our dog was a nice touch but bedroom just felt a bit shabby; bathroom was nice. Breakfast was a disappointment with no hot food or prepared fresh fruit. Lots of jars of stuff, but not really anything to eat, not great for 16.50€. Felt more like a diy breakfast to reduce staff numbers. Have stayed at this hotel and numerous novotel’s across France for past 20 years and will continue to do so, but felt some changes were not for the better!

Hotel was difficult to find, our room was dirty and the shower fixed on boiling. Can't leave the hall light on to assist finding the toilet in the night because the TV side light is on the same circuit. Food ok and nice bottle of water in the fridge.

...but not anymore. The airco was not working, very understaffed, not the room I made a reservation for and overall a very negative vibe among the guests.

Covid restrictions

Having a test certificate from Spain when the QR code on the certificate cannot be read in France and then be restricted to the usage of facilities makes zero sense. The certificate indicates NEGATIVE. Because the QR code cannot be read due to some technological problem and then restricting clients shows very poor customer service!

On entering France from Spain we were ordered by the French Police at the border to return to Spain for PCR tests as they do not accept Antigen tests. Even though the EU directive state that France have to accept Antigen tests. In Spain we did new Antigen tests (as they don't di PCR tests) and returned. This time no Police at the border. At your Hotel we had to produce Negative tests. They tried to scan the QR codes without being successful. Thus we were allowed to check in but was not allowed to use Gym, Swimming Pool, Bar or restaurant. Had to stay in our room. I took this up with the customer manager the next morning and showed her the copies of the negative Antigen tests. She apologised and said that it was not the correct decision at check in as with a negative test we should have been allowed without any restrictions. Thus we paid but were not allowed the usage of all facilities we had paid for?

As with all Accor Novotel the comfort was excellent staff is friendly and well trained. The parking lot is a good addition to the whole stay. Overall a great stay.

Nice size room, but small bed (1.40m?) which is positioned very close to the wall. Breakfast was good and so was the restaurant. However may already paid diner showed on the check-out again. Of course this was immediately corrected.

Hôtel needs a serious renovation. Very noisy and not well maintained. Smelled cold cigarette in all downstairs corridor. Not enough plugs in the bedroom.

Due to the Manager of Novotel Route des Grands Crus A TOTAL DISASTER !!!

"La loi c'est la loi" or "The law is the law" or the Rule is the Rule...was the answer of the Manager a certain Romane Denni when she refused the validity of our Belgian Certificates giving the proof that my wife an me werre legally vaccinated in Belgium . She even refused to have look at our papers under the pretext that the Euro Digital Card Certificate was not completely in order ( indeed one page was missing...). We went to our two rooms and then we tried once again to draw the attention of this Lady that we were in order according to the law in all sincerity and genuine but it was absolutely useless. She held her position : my wife must remain in the room and my three Fench grandchidren and I were entirely free to enjoy the hotel being in order withe the complete paper ( 2 pages instead of one for my wife). Then we paid the 265 Euros bill and we left this hotel. In my whole life I've never met such an uncompromising person. Maybe to end the story useful to mention that the day before in Nancy we enjoyed a amazing stay in a Hotel Ibis member of the network Accor and without any problem. So about the Novotel Route des Grand crus : Such a bad experience ...never again.

We were really impressed with the young team at the hotel. Above and beyond a friendly reception and efficient check in etc. We had one or two slightly odd requests that they accommodated immediately.

More Motel than Hotel

OK for just one night; whilst travelling South to North. Slightly dissapointing stay; not the Novotel standards we are used to. Rooms were clean and adecuate but noisy, very small and not very elegant (even though we booked a 'superior' class, I fear for the standard rooms). Breakfast also rather minimal.

Better and worse

With many trips to Italy, we have often stayed here. It is especially good in warmer months when our young children could swim in the pool , play table tennis, or just plat in the large area outside. It was refurbished last year. Admittedly the decor was becoming jaded. It is certainly fresher and the shower room was brilliant. However, the toilet was wonky as it was mounted on a crooked floor. The bed was too close to the wall and my wife bashed her head on the wall when she got up too quickly at night. The desk has been replaced by a wire-shelving arrangement that looks scrappy. As usual, the food is passable but a bit greasy and, our fault for eating it all, a bit too much. Must have starters and not mains next time. The staff, as always, are excellent. Lovely people.
