The restaurant food in the evening was disappointing or poor. The duck on the skewers was literally half pure fat which I had to leave behind on my plate. the aubergine longitudinal slices with it were hardly more than tough skin. The burger was not as good as at Burger King nearby, where we went the next day. The breakfast was alright except that several items tended to run out before we arrived in the morning. Additionally, I did not know that the hotel would block off a large amount of money (400 euro's) on my bank account upon us entering. Not knowing what exactly this meant, I could not take out any further cash from the account. This caused me anxiety during the four day stay. The bathroom was very good, the beds excellent, and the room was fine, except that there was no black tea available.

The hotel itself was very good, with the pool being quite big, clean and warm, the breakfast buffet was decent though there were a few problems like bad scrambled egg quality and complex coffee machines but beyond that it was lovely. The lobby and guest facilities were all clean and nice, aswell as the room, which, despite being rather small, was not unpleasant. The toilet is in a different room to the shower and doesn't have a lock which is a bit displeasing so I would advise to consider this when booking. As for the location, as far as we discovered in our 1 night stay, it was not amazingly located, as it was 10km from the beach that we went to which seemed to be the main one in Montpellier. It was also about a 20 minute drive from a retail park with a amazing aquarium that we visited along with multiple restaurants and other food establishments, a large IKEA, Decathlon and Casino. This hotel was probably the best that we stayed at out of 4 and I would recommend it for families and couples.

I thought this hotel was fabulous. The breakfast choices were vast, and the pool was spacious and a perfect temperature. The rooms were clean, but they were a bit small, kids even got a free teddy when signing in! It had very nice surroundings and had lots of nature! I would highly suggest coming!

It was a night stop over in our journey from Luxembourg to Spain. The location was key for us so we did not have to deviate much from our itinerary.

You recognize from outside a traditional old Novotel but inside you will be surprised, they did a great refurbishment. The pool and terrace area is very relaxing and the staff members are great. Always great in france that the parking is secured during the night. We can recommend the Novotel Montpellier and you will not be disappointed.
