Sadly, not a good night’s sleep. Pillow far too hard and only one pillow. Bed not very comfortable also, and breakfast not fantastic.

Overall the experience was good, however, due to the present situation of Covid the hotel was nearly empty, my room which was requested to be an assistance room was not what I expected - the bath was very difficult to get into. The food both the evening meal and breakfast wasn't up to the standard I would expect.

Refurbishment needed

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times before. On this occasion the room was very disappointing. The carpet looked disgusting with stains all over it - needs replacing. Also there were a number of broken curtain hooks and the curtains were difficult to close/open

OK, but some things not quite right

I have stayed at Novotel Rouen Sud many times, but this time I missed a few items in my room. It may be part of Covid measures, but there was no refrigerator in the room and no extra pillows (one is not enough). On the same trip I also stayed in the Pullman Bordeaux Lac and both these items were in my room. My perennial complaint about Novotels still hasn't been addressed. It is ridiculous to have a winter-weight duvet on the bed in summer! I end up bringing a sheet from home, taking the duvet out of its cover and just having a sheet plus the cover on the bed. It is the only way I can get a good nights sleep. Please consider changing your policy on this. Hotels in Spain wouldn't dream of giving their guests winter bedding in summer.

Very Poor Vegan Choice at your Restaurant

Your staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable - BUT... At a time when the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is strongly recommending that we CONSIDERABLY cut down on the quantity of meat and dairy products we are consuming, which are causing almost 60% of all greenhouse gases from food production, your one very bland and unimaginative vegan choice on the menu in your restaurant is unfortunately very shameful. We were very disappointed in the quality of this dish which was very dry and boring - and we wonder in fact, whether your chef actually took the time to taste what he/she actually produced for us! Come on, Novotel, you can do better! You need to provide vegan food that is attractive, tasty and nutritious - use whole grain rice for example, and create sauces that will compliment the dish. There are now plenty of vegan cook books or vegan recipe websites where your chefs can learn the delights of vegan food. Only then can we feel that you are making a contribution towards helping to fight the climate disaster.

Our only disappointment of our trip was the food in the restaurant. We find this to be tasteless and not of good quality. Our rooms were comfortable and clean and the staff were all extremely helpful and polite

Dog friendly. Great location. Lovely staff. Fantastic breakfast. Brilliant nights sleep in the comfy bed. Only slight let down was the toilet was in a separate room with very poor lightening. Will stay again hopefully very soon

We often stay here on our way south from Calais. The hotel has everything one needs for an overnight stop. The staff are friendly and very efficient, the hotel is clean, quiet and well-equipped and the beds are comfortable. The restaurant is good and the service excellent. So far, we have never been disappointed. In these COVID times, it was reassuring to see that social distancing and hygiene measures were in place.

All very good. The dinner menu slightly let you down as usually your meals are excellent but I am sure that is due to the restrictions of Covid and frankly was only minor. Your staff are delightful and the hotel clean and welcoming. We will see you next year.

We needed a hotel that had secure parking for our car and trailer which it had. Plus it was our 56 wedding anniversary on the day we were travelling. We wanted security plus peace and quiet, this hotel provided what we wanted. Also they give a good breakfast

I known very well the Accor brand (I am a Platinum member). Each hotel has a standard of comfort (Pullman, Novotel, Ibis…). I was disappointed to find that the mini-bars were removed in the Novotel, this is a downgrade. I was told that only luxury room have one. I have query the available of these rooms, although the car park was empty and the website indicated some availability, I was told that they were fully booked. I was more than happy to pay the difference. Simply shocking. Accor needs to wake up to the world, I have already stopped using you abroad, if this carries on, despite your larger footprint in France, I will make it a mission to not stay in your hotels.

HANDY HOTEL FOR EXHIBITION CENTRE

We have stayed here for many years and it is always OK, but now needs a bit of updating. The bathrooms are very basic and the beds fairly small and pillows are hard. However it is handy for the exhibition centre and has free parking.

We were passing through for one night Positive - ease of access from the motorway but in a lovely location by woods. The staff are super helpful. Our children and dog were welcome. Downsides- sofabed not really comfortable and the breakfast was a bit limited but good enough the size of the restaurant.

This is the first time I have felt let down by a Novotel! The room felt dated and in no way of the same standard as the other Novotel branch we stayed on our way down through France we we stayed at in Le Mans. The light in the toilet was broken and when this was reported we were advised that it was too late to fix. So it was left unresolved and to tell you the truth I felt disappointed with the reception staff. I was also accused for not paying for a meal I hadn’t even ordered! Not the best way to end what was a lovely two week break with a family of 7!
