The location is good. Close to a big mall, easy access to public transportation and close to INRIA where my meetings were held. The staff was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the room states it has airconditioning which it doesn't. The temperature is all managed in a central place. This lead to a room which I could not get below 24.5 degrees which is too hot in my personal opinion. False advertisement? Perhaps. Thankfully the staff gave me a fan to use, but still.. the outside temperature was between 8-12 degrees and it could not be cooled down inside. Furthermore, the bathroom had a bit of a sewer-like smell. The bed is very hard, so do reconsider this hotel if you have backpains or other reasons why a hard bed might not be for you. The room itself is functional and comfortable, although the doors are rather narrow and if you are a regular sized male, you might experience trouble sitting down on the toilet and closing the door. Aesthetically, the room is quite nice, but can feel a bit dark during the day if it's raining outside. Moving on to the breakfast, it can also be described as "decent". There is a wide variety of bread and pastry as well as condiments, fruits and the classic bacon, egg and sausage. The latter three were unfortunately microwaved and Im not sure if the egg actually contains egg so to speak. The fruit might be canned, but was good nonetheless. The biggest plus of the hotel I would say is the staff who are very friendly, helpful and understanding. I have no idea regarding the standards in this area for hotels, so I am not entirely sure if I would recommend it. Overall I would say, the stay was decent but not something I will remember for years to come (neither positive nor negative).

Mercure V. P. O. Families - Confirmed reviews ALL

We stayed at Mercure V. P. O. for 3 nights. The room was nicely decorated but it felt very hot (despite it being in Autumn). In fact, we were unable to set the temperature any lower than 24/25 degrees. This could perhaps be useful in winter but I cannot imagine dealing with it in the summer. There was also a smell coming from the bathroom (drain smell). In terms of the hospitality, the receptionsts were very pleasant and helpful but it made me feel uncomfortable that I had to remind them / ask for the 'perks' which come with my accor status (welcome drink / late check out etc.)
