As usual, the stay at the hotel was excellent. For the price, facilities are excellent, the staff are the best I’ve experienced, the hotel has a modern, clean look, and the location (for Oktoberfest or sightseeing) is excellent. My one issue is the attempt to take payment from my card prior to my arrival without communication, which is outside of the Ibis ‘pay on arrival’ agreement. Staff explained this was because they need to secure payment, due to the harm from non-payment. Although I sympathise, this shouldn’t mean charging cards outside of specified agreements, and this shouldn’t be communicated better. I hope the hotel communicate this better in future, as they will find legitimate customers will be supportive if communication about the change to stated policy is given.

The rooms are clean. There is a desk, so also fine for business purposes. Good typical German style breakfast. Getting there is relatively easy and public transportation is available in front of the hotel.

It was 31C during our stay and we were told the hotel had air conditioning, after leaving it on all day we went to the front desk and they said we could switch rooms the next day. Magically the next day they were also fully booked and the AC technician was not there. We received 2 fans. We asked multiple times about the air conditioning and we were told it would be fixed or we could move rooms, then we were told it’s central air it doesn’t always distribute to all rooms equally. We booked this hotel specifically since it had AC but that was a lie. Also our room was supposed to have 1 large bed but had 2 small beds (which were mattress pads) pushed together which did not make for a comfortable rest. Overall the amenities description is inaccurate along with photos of the room

We regret that our hotel and our services did not meet your expectations; please allow us to express our sincerest apologies. Regarding the air conditioning, please allow me to explain that our hotel is equipped with what is known as a chilled-water air-conditioning system, as is common in Germany and many other European hotels. The base temperature of the system is controlled centrally, whilst the control unit in the room allows for individual fine-tuning within the specified temperature range. Unlike direct evaporation systems, which are frequently used in North America, for example, these systems are not designed to cool rooms down to 16 or 18 °C, particularly when outside temperatures are extremely high. During your stay, Munich experienced exceptionally high outside temperatures. Under these conditions, our air-conditioning system is designed to achieve room temperatures of around 22 to 24 °C. we are pleased to provide our guests with an additional fan. I sincerely apologize for the minor differences between the photos and your room, but I ask for your understanding that these are merely sample photos of the respective room categories. I deeply regret that the bed did not meet your expectations. We would be delighted to welcome you back to our hotel, despite your disappointment. Best regards, Jochen Fuchs General Manager

The room is comfortable and clean, and our requests were taken care of, both before our arrival and while we were staying. Negative point: it's really annoying for the customer that when we have trouble understanding something said, people roll their eyes, make sounds with their mouth, and then respond to us. Just communicate the essentials, without beating around the bush. Point it out, write it down, put it in Google Translate, or do something if the person doesn't understand. Simple and practical. Nowadays we have technology for that, and it's completely unnecessary for the customer to go through any embarrassment.

The hotel was spotlessly clean. The housekeeping chap was unable to speak any English at all yet we still managed to get by well. The location was excellent & only a few stops from the main train station. There’s an ATM across the road which was handy. It was mostly the friendly welcoming staff on the front desk that has prompted my review. They were super helpful with maps & instructions on getting to places. Traveling solo feeling welcome is everything to me.

Upon entering you feel like the usual accor experience which is a clean, nicely welcomed and friendly place. Indeed I would say it was even one of the more inviting places that I been too. Unfortunately, while the room seemed clean and standard as usual, the matraces smelled terrible of cigarettes and I found multiple hairs upon first entry of my room on the bed and under my pillows. Simply not clean. This was room 333 FYI.

Convenient location. Fast check-in. Great room, comfortable bed, and very quiet. I liked everything except for the towel — it was shedding fibers badly and didn’t absorb water at all, so it was practically impossible to dry myself with it.

Room was clean. Has A/C, but doesn’t really cool the room. Had to get a fan and open the window to be comfortable. Shower was a little small. If you’re a bigger person, you will probably have a hard time showering. The rooms are a little small too. Not much room to move around on sides of bed and in between chair/table. Staff was great and cleanliness. Those are main concerns for me, and they met the mark.

Regarding the air conditioning, please allow me to note that it only allows for a certain range of individual adjustments. In general, our system is set to a maximum difference from the outside temperature (DIN EN 16798), in accordance with the recommendations of the German Federal Environment Agency, to avoid negative effects on our guests’ health. Unfortunately, when outside temperatures are unusually high, the system reaches its limits. With regard to the size and amenities of our rooms, I ask for your understanding regarding the international ibis standards. We hope to welcome you as our guest soon again.
