no gym, no pool, plastic water kettle, empty shampoo, lukewarm reception- i really am baffled how this is a 4* hotel . pluses: the location is central. it is well suited for an overnight stay or if youre in a large tour group and need proximity to bus parking .

Everything was perfect. Central location, cleanliness, comfort, staff. I would recommend not to lock the windows in the rooms, so that rooms can be aired otherwise than through AC/ ventilation.

Great location for seeing Freiburg old town. We had a pleasant stay in a good-sized room, even with armchair bed out! Lovely breakfast too. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. As we were leaving, they had to deal with an extremely challenging customer. The patience and calm approach of the reception member was extremely impressive!

Check in and out very quick, however towels were threadbare and torn and there was no milk for coffee or tea.

Great location, horrible room. Room smelled like wet dog, and the A/C did not work. We booked a room for myself and my wife and our one year old (listed in the booking), but no crib was provided, but the did have a fold out bed set up. I don't know what good a fold out bed is for a one year old.

This time I wasn’t satisfied with the reception. I booked a room in the beginning of June and I asked explicitly for a room on a quiet location. Upon arrival I said to your receptionist that I booked a room on a quiet location. We went to our room and were shocked, because the room (212) was close to churchbells and close to a cafe terrace with much noise. I refused room 212 and insisted the receptionist to give me a room on a quiet location. He than gave me room 517. Is the receptionist deaf or doesn’t he speak well English or doesn’ he like his job? Why does he treat guests that way by upsetting them?

Old but good hotel very close to city center with a pafking facility in same builging (different company). However torn towels and linen with holes are unacceptable. Should have been disposed and not used at all.

・Although the hotel directory is now fully QR code-compatible, it doesn’t list all the ways to contact the necessary departments, and requests for restocking supplies with Housekeeping must all go through the front desk. On top of that, it takes over an hour to process these requests, which is too slow. Even when I asked for just one roll of toilet paper, it took over 90 minutes for it to be brought to me, and the room wasn't cleaned at all for one day, which was very unpleasant. ・The number of breakfast items has decreased, there’s no toaster, and the juices are no longer fresh—the overall quality has gone down.

The hotel was booked due to its central location and advertised parking. The parking is not free and had a height limit of 2m. My vehicle is 2.05m tall which meant that it would not fit in the carpark. I called the hotel to enquire where I could park. I was told of two places the first and slightly closer required the vehicle to be moved before 8am, as this was a holiday I moved on to the second suggestion. The carpark was next to the central station with broken bikes and graffiti around the site. I parked here and we collected it bags for the twenty minute walk across town to the hotel. The room itself was clean but the body wash empty in the shower and there wasn't any milk and empty opened packets of sugar in the drinks area. I'm sorry to say the hotel spilled our impression of Freiberg, we left without booking breakfast and headed off on the twenty minute walk back to the vehicle.

Clean , good sized rooms with good shower and comfortable beds. Minutes walk to town. Car parking was €24 for 24 hours which is reasonable compared to price we pay in UK. Staff were friendly and helpful. Frieburg was lovely.

We stayed as a family of 4 and we're very happy with our whole stay. The room was great-plenty of space even with the sofa bed out, nice views from floor 6. The location of the hotel is great to explore the old town and use the funicular. The staff were kind and helpful with good English. Great to have a coffee machine - we would've really appreciated a mini fridge in the room.

I stayed at the Mercure Hotel and found the room to be okay overall. However, there was a constant strange and unpleasant smell coming from the toilet, which was quite off-putting. I didn’t complain at the time as I was very busy, but it definitely affected my experience. Unfortunately, I also found the breakfast disappointing and not up to the standard I expected from Mercure.
