Despite booking our staycation about 4 months in advance, we were informed that the pool was not in service a few days just before and was unable to make last minute changes to plan. We were not aware of major construction near premises and could hear the drilling and piling in room almost throughout the day. Room with terrace is redundant as there is no view and also not comfortable to sit in. A young and vibrant crew. Staff is extremely friendly but I would rather them maintain professionalism instead of being colloquial. With experience, their sincere hospitality will exude naturally. We stayed for 4 days and started to get bored with repetitive breakfast menu. Being a homely establishment, we expect crew to address guests by first names especially so when it is not full occupancy. Guests are spoilt for food choices in the street directly opposite the hotel.

We had a pleasant stay at Mama Shelter in Dec of 2025. Located a stone’s throw away from Orchard road with quick access to Somerset MRT, the location of this charming French boutique hotel is a huge plus. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room although small was spanking clean with comfortable bedding, motorized blinds, tv, fridge, Dyson hairdryer, kettle and super soft towels and bathrobes. The best feature was the toto pot! The restaurant didn't have a lot of menu options but whatever we ordered was good. I understand that the swimming pool is under construction. The only drawback to our stay was the unavailability of parking and the construction noise from the adjacent site. Other than that, full points on all fronts!

I recently stayed at Mama Shelter Singapore and was genuinely impressed by the fantastic team and the personal, friendly service throughout my visit. A special mention to Caroline, who was incredibly helpful with all my breakfast questions, and to Sam, the General Manager, who took the time to listen when I had some air conditioning issues and concerns about the construction next door. His professionalism made a real difference. Jamie was wonderful as well — when he heard I was heading to Hong Kong, he wrote me a thoughtful list of recommendations on a postcard, which was such a personal touch. And Alyssa made checkout a pleasure, helping with my luggage and even giving me some cookies for the road. Small gestures, but they really stay with you. As a Disloyalty member, I appreciated the warm welcome and the sense of community the hotel creates. The location on Killiney Road is authentic, charming, and a great base for exploring Singapore. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel are highly recommended — great atmosphere and quality. The rooms are on the smaller side, but very comfortable and well designed. I’m also looking forward to the pool opening next year. Overall, a lovely stay with a team that should be proud of the service they deliver. Keep up the great work, Mama Shelter Singapore!
