Really enjoyed my stay at Mama Shelter Singapore. Accor Platinum status and the special occasion were both recognised, with treats in the room, towel swans, drawings and wishes on the mirror, and a card - which I found a really nice touch.
Front desk staff were lovely and very helpful, especially the lady with the red hair.
The campy decor is really well done throughout the hotel and rooms, and the rooms themselves are well furnished with quality fittings, including a Dyson hairdryer.
Breakfast was also excellent. Really liked the a la carte format, which beats a buffet any day of the week.
Only minor issue was the aircon, which seemed to keep reverting to a preset temperature instead of staying at the temperature I selected.
Would happily recommend!

Through out the hotel there is great design of colour and furnishings.

The location of mama is very convenient for taking Red line MRT, with only 10 min walk. And the Killiiney cafe is just nearby. The whole service team is nice and kind, serve with patience and joy.

Mama Shelter is probably the best combination of price and location in this part of Singapore. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the design was fresh with rooms spacious enough for a 5-night stay for one person. I would absolutely stay here again because Singapore is so expensive and this hotel is good enough, though I have some reservations about some of the branding and design choices.
Room is cool and modern, though the strange cartoon character masks on the bedside lamps were creepy and off-putting, not adding anything to the decor except a vague “I’m going to wake up to a stranger standing in my room with a knife wearing one of these” vibe that was an interesting contrast to Singapore’s reputation as a very safe city.
The number of universal charging points available throughout the room were a plus, with built-in 18W USB-C charging next to most outlets.
The room air conditioning shuts off automatically when you leave, which is great for the environment — however, the room gets quite warm if you’re away for the full day (up to 26.8C at one point) and the air conditioning takes a frustratingly long time to cool the room back down when you return.
The toilet has a bidet which was great, but the little “throne room” isn’t served by the air conditioning and the full-height door automatically closes very loudly and firmly. Eventually I decided to prop the toilet door open with a trash can when it was not in use so that I didn’t have to sit in 27C heat while using the toilet.
The towels were unexpectedly low-quality, with a fine layer of cotton lint in the air after each shower, visible on every conceivable surface in the bathroom area by the second night of my stay (and in my hair and all over my body after every shower). My towels were replaced three times during my 5 nights and every towel in each set did the same.
The massive window has electronic controls for the blinds, numbered 1 through 3. There was not a 3rd blind in the room that I could see so one control button was completely useless, while the other two were semi-useless due to the completely unintuitive way they operate — and because the full blackout blind seemed to keep automatically coming down.
Magically, the “please make up room” light seemed to only stay lit up if I was in the room. When I was away for long enough that the room went into its automatic “power saving” mode, the light would shut off too and my room was not serviced by housekeeping.
At the end of the day, this was still a decent stay despite everything, and the cost savings made by the property are only really apparent in the small touches and finer details.

Walked in and immediately found the calm, colourful surroundings to be very relaxing. This was caused by the excellent decoration and slightly lowered lighting..

The room, not large but nice, had everything we needed, bed comfortable and good size.

The room was ok but we saw couple of cobwebs on the ceiling and it's a rather dusty room and the AC not cooling at all but the hotel crew managed to solve the issue the next day. The construction site next door made us restless and we slept better on Sunday as the construction stopped that day.
