I would like to sincerely thank the entire team at Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile for the warm welcome and for inviting me to experience such a beautiful stay. I truly appreciated all the special touches, the wonderful extras included, and the exceptional hospitality throughout my visit.
The view was absolutely beautiful, the room was lovely and comfortable, and the service was impeccable. Everyone made me feel very welcome and well taken care of.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time during this stay to discover the spa, which is something I would have loved to experience. This simply gives me another reason to come back!

Lobby full of smoking smell as they allow for smoking, so could not use the lobby at all. Also, the noise from the boats at the front of the hotel is crazy and continues up to early morning every night.

Great stay, original room allocated was very poor, not clean and in poor condition - Yousef Jacob on front desk resolved it in minutes with no issue - excellent response and support. Final room was as booked and very good, and a great view. Staff in lounger were outstanding, Ahmed at breakfast was superb. The service in the afternoon and evening were also high standard, Ahmed, Abu Bakr, Abdou, Nermin and Eslam were outstanding - so much so we had no need to go anywhere else.
My only issue: Room cleaning was very hit and miss - the room was always clean but every day we either had no hand towels, bath robe missing or half a toilet role - more inconvenienced than major but none the less, it became a slight bet as to what we may have when we returned to the room. Last, there is no point providing a coffee machine if you cannot provide coffee pods....it's a pointless item.

Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at the hotel. From the moment I arrived, the whole staff were welcoming, friendly, and professional , I would like to thank Mr. Mazen and Mr. Omar.
The reception team made the check-in process smooth , and were always helpful whenever I needed anything. (I would like to thank also Mr. Ahmad)
The hotel was very clean . The housekeeping service was excellent, and I would especially like to thank Mr. Shaker from the housekeeping team for his great work, attention to detail, and friendly attitude.
The concierge team was also very helpful and professional (specially Mr. Ahmad helped us in choosing touristic places) , the team is always ready to assist with any questions or requests.
I would like to give special thanks to the entire breakfast team. A special mention goes to the lady preparing the eggs, who was always kind and made everything fresh to order, and the lady preparing the fresh dough and pastries. The chefs and the whole breakfast team did an excellent job.
Overall, the service, cleanliness, and hospitality made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable.

Stayed in two rooms, both rooms were of high quality, beds very comfortable and gym was well equipped. Particularly liked that breakfast was till 11 and the pool was kept open till sunset. Hotel was also very central. Would definitely stay here again.

My bathroom was flooding the entire stay and wasn’t fixed. Our jewelry was stolen from the room by the house keeping.
We weren’t provided with the full bathroom kit, no toothbrushes or loofah. Just shower caps.
We were overcharged at checkout for a meal. The meal costs Egp840 but we were charged Egp2,200.
The breakfast buffet doesn’t have that much varied options. As an Accor member that has stayed in other Sofitel hotels and more, I definitely wouldn’t recommend Sofitel Cairo and I definitely wouldn’t be coming back.

Please note that the referred to charges were for Room Service consumption two checks one on 04.09.26 for EGP 1,285 and another one on 02.09.26 for EGP 840.
Our records shows that there was no reporting of any lost items during your stay, please provide us with more details to enable us to investigate it further.

Our experience would have been excellent except for two experiences at Soldana. The first is that the wine list seems to try to deceive. I know of no restaurant in the world that charges over 5000 EGP for a glass of wine. Wines of that quality are only available by the bottle as oxidation occurs when the bottle is opened. Please consider changing that approach so that the highest cost for a glass is no more than 1500EGP.
Our second unfortunate experience was that we were served some shrimp that were not completely cooked. As a result we had intestinal problems much of the next day.
Housekeeping was excellent, the room as well but there are many options for hotels in Cairo and as a travel agent, I probably would find and suggest to my fellow agents that they find an alternative accommodation to the Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile.
