I think the hotel is outdated. Need a full refurbishment. I would not choose this hotel if I have to return to Cairo. All staff were very professional and helpful

The warm greeting and professionalism, received from the reception staff complemented by the outstanding Youssouf - who is a credit to Sofitel - made a great start to our stay. Breakfast in the exec lounge was superb, the beautiful views over the Nile matched by a wonderful selection of both a la carte and buffet options only bettered by the exceptional service from Abdel Kady and his team. Their attention to detail was remarkable even remembering, without prompt, how many teabags and what juices we liked. Ahmed could not do enough for us, his hard work, genuine attentive nature and enthusiasm to deliver exceptional service did not go unnoticed as we popped onto the Exec bar balcony to take in the Cairo sunset. Finally and by no means last, the concierge team made us feel safe and welcome every day with a special mention going out to Mazen a great ambassador for Sofitel with infectious smile and warm nature. This was our second stay at this hotel and I can’t believe it would be possible to top our first but you did!

We had a wonderful 3-night stay in a club room on the top floor. The Club Millesime lounge and its staff are excellent, as is its food and beverage offering. The concierge team are most helpful and they arranged a super guide for a day out at Saqqara and Giza. There were one or two quirks in the room - safe and air con both had glitches, and smoking is clearly allowed in these rooms. The balcony furniture could also have done with a deep clean in between guests. The overall impression of the hotel, and particularly its staff, is very good nonetheless.

Wrong room allocated. We got smoking. Also black mould in shower and balcony unused due to it not being clean. Guest relations poor at best and have no authority, offered £40 refund which was refused. Total embarrassment and we have posted to this effect on booking.com. Given we had 2 suits we expected more.

We enjoyed our stay here - everyone from the hotel we interacted with was friendly, attentive and did a fantastic job. The hotel room leaked noise from the busy road outside, but I don’t think any hotel with a Nile view would not have the problem. There was a couple of nights during our stay when an outdoors wedding was very loud quite late into the night and we didn’t enjoy that, but also it’s understandable that a hotel as beautiful as this will be hosting functions like that.
